Don't hire them

Thank you for never taking my case; now I understand you're not professional. Thank you all for your comments; I think they save a lot of people.

I do NOT recommend this place at all. Attorney Gilberto A. Rodriguez is a very professional person at first, but once you sign the representation contract, he really changes completely. He is arrogant, rude, ill-mannered, scolds you, yells at you, and not to mention the totally excessive representation charges. I am very disappointed with this attorney. He did not help me at all. He never tried to help me a bit with my case, he just said that was the law. I hope these people do their job better and that these complaints that people make are of some use. Again, I do not recommend this place at all.

I'm fed up with how they work here. They don't do their job properly. Something that takes them 3 minutes to send takes them up to 3 months. It's disgusting how they operate in this law firm. They're irresponsible, but when it comes to their payments, they even send reminders days in advance.

If you want to throw $6,500 away, hire them! Attorney Joel Vázquez literally just told me that it doesn't matter if his work is shoddy, he still gets paid. My work permits were denied twice, and even though I'm neither a lawyer nor a paralegal, they were approved! Another $2,500 down the drain! *My daughter's I-130 petition was DENIED due to abandonment of the case because Joel never sent a document they requested, claiming they asked me for it many times, which isn't true! There's supposed to be communication between attorney and client, which never happened! All I ever did was call them. Everyone should know they can file a complaint with the Illinois State Bar! Find out how; you can do it! That's what I'm going to do right now, because it's unfair that they take advantage of our situation as immigrants and charge us for half-finished work! Nobody should hire them! Don't waste your time or money! It's a deplorable situation!

Mr. Joel, I hope to hear from you through this channel, as you haven't responded to my emails and the office phone is no longer being answered. As you know, my case has been ongoing for over two years, and I'm tired of being given the runaround and having my lawyer changed every three or four months. The slowest part of my case has been due to your firm's inefficiency. If you lack the capacity or professionalism to continue my case, please let me know so I can find another option and request a refund.

Be careful about hiring Joel as a lawyer. My aunt had an open case with him for a long time, and nothing was ever done about it. There were several paralegals at that office. Now the paralegal who was working on the case is gone. I tried to contact a woman named Jennifer, and she would answer the phone and then hang up. They probably assign all the cases to the remaining paralegals. I'm not surprised they keep quitting, probably because of all the work they're given.

Looking for lawyers? Run! This isn't the place. Are you being handled by a lawyer? Urgently seek a second opinion from another law firm. My experience: I had to file a complaint with the Bar Association against Joel Vazquez because he filled out my information incorrectly, causing me to miss an important appointment. Not only did he give me the wrong home address, but even after receiving the notification, he failed to inform me. As a result, my work permit was denied. I revoked his power of attorney, and almost two months later, I'm still waiting for a refund. To make matters worse, they don't have a system for tracking payments, and according to him (or to justify stealing the money), I owed him more. Fortunately, I have all the supporting documentation. Be careful not to fall into the hands of this firm. I will update this information as the case progresses with the Bar Association. A crook like this shouldn't be practicing law. He's a disgrace to the profession.

My case wasn't easy because of things I'd done in the past. Many lawyers told me I wouldn't be able to get my status in order. I went with the Hispano Law Group consortium. I'm disappointed. Last year they had me working with someone else, and this year one of them helped me, but now they're telling me she's gone. This firm is playing games. The woman was kind and told me she no longer works there. I've been dealing with them for years, and they haven't done anything. Just this year, attorney Carolina helped me, and now she's gone. My pardon was processed, but I waited years for it to be finalized. Don't hire them!

I am honestly disappointed and sad at the same time with this group. I lost my work permit 10 months ago and paid $700 to get it back, and they appointed two women in my case, both of whom have already left the group and never did anything. They just took my money and wasted their time. I do not recommend them. 😔
