Editing from a 1-star to a 5-star: It turns out that there was just a simple miscommunication following our original phone call, as I finally got a chance to meet with Sophie and talk through the details of my case in mid July.. She was able to give me a bit of free advice on navigating the process with the Missouri Commission of Human Rights and help me get approved to sue my former employer. Fast forward a little over two months; due to some major turbulence at my current employer, I hadn't been able to compile all of the supporting information she had requested. Seeing the 90-day hard deadline creeping up, my ADHD started ADHDing in overdrive and I had a major freak out moment. After returning to a calmer state, I committed to an all-nighter to assemble the information on a Friday so that I could send it to her on Saturday and follow up on Monday. When I saw a reply pop up in my inbox, I was nervous, but cast it out of mind to wrap up a deadline task. My nerves turned to absolute joy as my phone rang and Sophie let me know that even though I'd been sidelined, she had prepared the filing based on our lengthy meeting and it was ready for my once-over before filing. I'll continue to update this throughout the process, but no matter the ultimate outcome, she is an absolute life saver! --Keeping the original as a demonstration of the full breadth of awesomeness.. [Seeing the rave reviews about Sophie had originally given me hope, especially after she identified a second cause of action in addition to my discrimination/retaliation complaint, but I was ghosted in December with zero explanation.]

It’s true.. they make deals with the opposing lawyers behind your back. I asked my lawyer (Anne) in a confidential setting, “what do you think is a good deal to take?” And the EXACT dollar she said, is the EXACT offer that the opposing team offered and we settled on because the opposing counsel REFUSED to go higher than that, as if she told them that I would be willing to settle on that offer.. & reluctantly I did. & the fact that she already had a working relationship with the opposing team added to an unknown hidden motive of just looking to win her firm money. I thought that was really suspicious & Looking back on my experience with this team, I wish I would have went with another firm. She also did not do her part in gathering the evidence necessary to get the best possible result. They’re more worried about commission , rather than justice. I would not recommend this firm to my worst enemy.
