Jessy was phenomenal. My ex-husband was extremely difficult to work with during the divorce process. To put it politely, he was stubbornly of the opinion that he should have his cake and eat it too. Through the entire process, Jessy made me feel safe. When he came in with a last minute curve ball, she jumped on it and put in as much time as was needed to develop the strongest response possible. Every time. She was incredibly sympathetic, reassuring, and personable, but she also set realistic expectations and gave it to me straight when I needed it. I felt a little less helpless and alone when she walked me through each step. She really felt like a shield for me, and thanks to her I managed to get a fair settlement out of someone whose idea of fair is whatever works out best for him.

I cannot recommend Jessy highly enough. She secured the best possible deal for me and made sure I walked away with everything I worked so hard for. Her honesty, clear game plan, and sharp logical thinking truly set her apart. I was going through a dissolution about 5 years ago, my attorney was Allison Kamilos. I truly feel I was not represented well. I lost custody of my child to a man who admitted under oath to laying hands on me. The judge was provided with photographic evidence of that incident. There were many, many other things that happened during our four-day trial that Ms. Kamilos should have objected to or argued against, which she did not. I was disheartened to see that she was named a rising star in a law magazine 5 years in a row - the first year she was named so was just a few months after she represented me. To be clear - I was supporting myself, had a higher income than my ex-husband, and had photographic proof of abuse. Ms. Kamilos allowed my ex to spin lies that went unchallenged, and allowed his mistress to do the same. My hope is that Ms. Kamilos has improved over the years - I would advise anyone thinking about hiring her to meet her in person and assess for yourself whether her awards for being a 'rising star' are deserved.

Absolutely horrific experience working with Holtey Law and Jessy Morris. As difficult and sensitive as family law cases can be, my personal information was shared publicly at a bar by one of their interns, making an already painful situation even worse. Thankfully, a woman found me on Instagram and messaged me to let me know she had overheard the intern discussing my custody case. When I brought this to the firm’s attention, all they said was, “sorry.”

Nathan was exceptional. His whole team Kassandra Jewett and Solveig were wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about them. I had been a stay at mom for my whole adult life and was scared, insecure and filled with uncertainty when thinking about going through with a divorce. I had filed for divorce twice with two different attorneys previously and was very unhappy with them. On my search for a 3rd attorney I came across Nathan on a random google search. Nathan really fought for me, Nathan was able to prove in a room full of professionals that years of abuse had occurred in my marriage. Nathan was very direct and straight forward with telling me what I could expect during the process and what I would probably receive as far as assets, alimony and child support and he was spot on. Nathan had a deep understanding for my situation and was empathetic toward me because he knew how scared, anxious and nervous I was. Nathan and Kassandra were very responsive immediately even when I had questions outside of appointments. I had so many questions and my anxiety was through the roof during the process. Nathan constantly reassured me that everything was going to be ok, he was genuinely concerned about mine and my kids well being and I trusted him with my complex situation. Like many other clients here, I had my fair share of working with several family law attorneys before I met Andy. During the interview, I knew he was different, and my time working with him had proven that to me. He took my appeal case to victory, and helped resolve the conflict through very skillful negotiation at the end of the journey. Very disappointed with their service. I called them and scheduled a consultation. Was waiting few days for it, it was urgent and very important for me. Appointment was scaled at 9 am. I was waiting all morning no body called me. I was calling few times and no body picked up the phone. If they treat their clients like this, how can I be sure they will show up to court? I don't want to have anything to do with this office.

What an extremely disappointing experience. When you explain on day 1 that as a truck driver I cannot communicate effectively by email. They should have been upfront and explain that they do not want to communicate by phone. It was the hardest thing to speak to my attorney. After several weeks I finally demanded that we speak on the phone. I don't think we could have been further apart in understanding. After just a few minutes even I had to ask why are we yelling. It was an extremely traumatic experience. I have never wasted money that quickly. I physically couldn't even call another lawyer. That's real trauma. Finally I was able to contact Rachel at Lufkin Peckham and Bergstrom. First thing was she was willing to fight for me. I was told by my attorney at Holtey Law that because I had a job it would be highly unlikely that I could have 50/50 access to our daughter. Rachel's attitude immediately was why not? Rachel also explained that courts want to provide as much access as possible to fathers. After my attorney at Holtey Law fired me, and withdrew from my case. People were shocked at how I was treated. I was told to report my former attorney to the Oregon Bar Association, but I have been extremely busy with work and trying to deal with my future ex wife, and her Attorney. Lufkin Peckham and Bergstrom namely Rachel have accomplished so much more from a much greater deficit than my attorney at Holtey Law. I have been extremely pleased with the level of service, and extremely pleased with the level of fight in my attorney. With Holtey Law my ex-wifes attorney seemed to be calling all the shots, and I felt I was being forced into an agreement that I would resent in the future. At first I was saddened that I had lost my representation from Holtey Law. Now I realize that it was a blessing. I remember trying to explain to my former attorney at Holtey Law that I needed them to be more efficient. I regret my involvement with this firm, but I am extremely happy and grateful now. That was my experience.

5 stars does not do justice for Andrew Newsome and his team. Andrew took on a divorce case, after my first attorney retired, filled with challenges that had already been going on for three years. From a trial court whose findings did not match the final decision, an appeals court that helped fixed those decisions to a respondent that has a “my way or the highway” attitude no matter the financial cost, who filed for a second appeal. Andrew fought hard for me through the heartbreaking and frustrating loss at the appeals court level all the way to the Supreme Court of the State of Oregon. From the first day of meeting him, I knew my case was in capable, compassionate, and confident hands. Andrew was very straightforward on what to expect and what should happen, while never promising any outcome. He and his team communicated each step of the process and any questions I had were quickly answered. Andrew and his team did their homework, never being afraid to reach out to others more experienced in case law whether it was other lawyers or judges. I will never be able to convey how thankful I am that I retained Andrew and trusted him to go on a nearly seven-year journey with him. I will always be thankful to him and his team for believing in me and fighting so hard for me. I highly recommend Andrew Newsome and his team.

Andy and Amy are AMAZING!!! I'm frugal, and Andy was a little more than what I originally wanted to pay. But I quickly learned he was well worth it and probably saved me a ton of money from my high conflict divorce. It took me months to find a lawyer. I liked how he graduated with honors from a top school and had experience with another flashy firm that was quadruple the price. In the first hour, that was free, I could tell he was logical and definitely brilliant. I probably talked to more than 30 lawyers and no one impressed me as much as Andy. He broke down the angles of my prenup (which many lawyers in Oregon don't have experience with btw) and did not give me any BS of how great he was. I simply could tell by his advice alone. When the opposing lawyer would give low blows, he didn't take the bait and encouraged me not to either. It simply would not resolve anything and drive up billable hours. Both Amy and Andy would delegate work so it was the most beneficial financially for me as well. Brilliant, straightforward, and honest. I could not believe I found this in a lawyer!!
