It was a pleasure working with Scott Sellers and associates Cari and Lauren. Scott was very helpful when last minute issues threatened the closing schedule. Well negotiated and effective. Great job.

David Scimone and his team are great to work (again). Derek handled our closing and he was terrific. Lauren coordinated the behind the scenes and got it done. A very positive experience and we would recommend them to anyone looking for buyer or seller real estate representation- we've used them now for both.

Highly recommend! First time home buyer and the whole team made the process super easy. Derek, especially, was extremely helpful and was there to assist throughout the entire process. Nothing but good things to say and will be using Hornung & Scimone PC again when it's time to buy the next property!

My wife and I just bought a house using their services. David, Derek, and Lauren were very helpful, creative, and thoughtful throughout this whole process. It was our first time buying a house and we didn’t have a real estate agent, so it was great having their expertise and support. They were there for us every step of the way.

Derek was awesome! 100% recommend the whole Hornung & Scimone and CrossCountry Mortgage family team. Derek was very knowledgeable and friendly as I navigated buying a home. It was as if I had a best friend helping me through the process. Text, call, email - whatever I needed, when I needed it. He went the extra mile to meet me for the final signing and knew how to help me understand what I was signing. He made the process so easy. I'm very grateful for his guidance. Thank you!

As a first-time home buyer, I was pretty nervous about the whole process, but after my realtor, Jared Rowland, recommended Melissa Gaboury from Hornung & Scimone PC, everything became so much easier. She was the best—extremely responsive and very informative throughout the entire process. During our journey together, I was traveling in a completely different time zone, and she still made sure she was always available to answer any questions and provide timely updates on the status. She took the time to explain everything in simplified detail so I understood what would take place at each step of the approval process. All in all, I had a smooth sailing experience, including on closing day. And as a fun bonus, their jelly bean obsession is out of this world — such an awesome addition to the office! Safe to say it’s always all fruity flavors and none of the weird mystery ones. So if you’re ever in need of an attorney, I cannot stress enough that Melissa is your girl!!

Derek was absolutely great to work with from day one, and went above and beyond to ensure things operated smoothly and we were kept informed even when unexpected delays from the sellers side came up. Cannot recommend him and Hornung & Scimone enough!

Chelsea Doogan was my legal representative while buying my first home. She was able to offer aggressive deadlines for fast-closing, hit all commitments, responded promptly, and generally did a good job... until there was a complication. Chelsea ended up arguing against my interests, despite being my representative. I'll do my best to objectively explain so the reader can judge for themselves, but I found her conduct in the final days unprofessional. She earned 5 stars otherwise. The sellers insisted on giving me keys indirectly, using their electric garage door opener code. I did not like this, and bristled at the suggestion, but because I wanted a good relationship with the seller and they seemed responsible... I decided to go with the flow. Come the day to take possession, the code did not work -- there was no power! I told the sellers, contacted Chelsea, and spent a week working with the sellers in good-faith -- they insisted it was as easy as national grid flipping a switch. After a week of harassing National Grid, they finally mentioned that the main breaker needed to turned off in order for power to be restored. The main breaker was inside the property, so it was a catch 22: I couldn't get the power turned on without access to the property, and I couldn't get access to the property without power. I immediately hired a lock smith to break into my own home for me. Thank god it hadn't rained during the week I believed the sellers, because they even left 2 windows fully open when they left. The code worked as soon as I had power. I asked national grid what went wrong, and they said nothing -- when the owner of a property requests a service shut off, they do it. As far as I can tell, the sellers were so eager to save a buck that they actually requested national grid disconnect the power before or on the day I was supposed to use the power to get in. Genius. National grid insisted there was no other way it could have happened, as physically disconnecting service is a big deal. I was reasonable and let Chelsea know I only wanted a symbolic $100's from the sellers as an apology. Enough to cover the fee for the lock smith to visit and nothing else. I was ambushed the next day by the sellers agent and forcibly given a check for $100 that I tried to refuse. Not the sellers money -- completely missing the point of why I was only asking for $100 in the first place. I tore up the check. When I told Chelsea this, she seemed to get angry and stopped caring, claiming I'd been "made whole", when I hadn't, and even went as far as to argue I was too stupid to enter a garage door code, which was the best argument the sellers had for why they didn't fail to provide me keys despite failing to provide keys. I think Chelsea didn't want to deal with it. I even politely noted it might not be worth her time in the email immediately before she started theorizing the real issue was I don't know how to use a garage door opener. She easily could have thanked me for being considerate, despite my frustration with the seller refusing to apologize, and achieved the same outcome. It was a face plant at the final hurdle that left me feeling poorly represented. Tight schedules come at the cost of something, I guess.

Response from owner

Hi Andrew, <br><br>Thank you for your thoughtful review and are sorry Chelsea fell short of the Five stars she was striving for -<br><br>A very frustrating situation for sure and surprised National Grid shut the power off vs their usual protocol of changing over billing without power disruption, especially during the winter. <br><br>Also happy reimbursing the $100 with understanding it’s the principle.
