0 out of 10. If you need an estate lawyer in Ouachita Parish, I suggest you use ANY other firm besides this one. Specifically a partner there named Margaret Pruitt. Its been over a year an the succession for my father's estate still hasn't been settled. Was also told months ago the succession would be done within the next 30 days..didn't happen. I'm the only heir so it should have been a pretty cut an dry experience. Nobody will return calls or voicemails or give you any kind of updates. And my father's estate paid them a $5k retainer and they have the nerve to charge over $3k more dollars when they've done absolutely NOTHING to substantiate such charges. When all this is finally over an if they ever actually do what they were paid to do in the first place,I will be asking for an itemized bill showing every single hour I was charged for. This firm will take advantage of you and charge you outrageous amounts of money with nothing to show for the money you're spending. Will be filing a complaint with the Louisiana Bar Association. Overall HORRIBLE experience an complete waste of time an money!!! UPDATE!!! Experience has only gotten worse. Ive now been denied NUMEROUS times a billing statement to justify an 8800$ final bill for a simple succession!! By 2 seperate lawyers including a partner! Claiming i wasn't owed one even tho I'm the only heir to the estate an Louisiana law states the heir is entitled to it an they have a fiduciary duty to provide. Lawyers are supposed to provide total transparency when it comes to billing hours. I was also hung up on by the rudest receptionist as soon as I said my name an later instructed not to call the office back and that all my calls would consequently be sent to voicemail!!
