I retained attorney Jack Phillip Sherman in connection with criminal case number C1703492 in Shelby County Criminal Court. The aggravated assault charge in this case was dismissed (nolle prosequi), meaning I do not have a felony conviction. However, the paperwork and documentation associated with my case has been incorrectly presented or recorded in a way that makes it appear that I have a felony. Because of this error, I have lost employment opportunities including Amazon, Lyft, & more. I have been attempting to contact this attorney since the end of last year to correct the paperwork and ensure my record accurately reflects that the felony charge was dismissed. Despite repeated attempts, the issue has not been corrected. I am requesting that the Board review this matter and address the attorney’s failure to correct the legal documentation which has caused significant harm to my employment opportunities. Because of how this paperwork is showing up, my employer treated the case as a felony and terminated my job last week. I have a child with Down syndrome who requires full-time care and eats through a G-tube, so this situation is extremely urgent. I need you to correct or clarify this documentation immediately so I can provide proper proof to my employer that the felony charge was dismissed.
