I called to talk with a lawyer at this firm about a medical malpractice , and I had a knee surgery that the Orthopedic Surgeon messed up, causing my left knee to continuously give out. It gave out June of 2022, causing me to fall, breaking both sides of my ankle, toes, fibia, left shoulder bone, and tearing my rotaters cuff. Since then, I've had to have reconstructive surgery on the bones that were broken and on my rotater cuff. In the state of Michigan you have 2 years to file a malpractice lawsuit but there are exceptions which is the 6 year statute of repose but have to show proof that the surgery that was done caused the injury, which I have all the proof needed. On Jakeways' website, it specifically says : Exceptions to the Statute of Limitations There are some exceptions to the statute of limitations. For example, you may have up to six years to file a claim if the injury involves the reproductive system or the medical provider fraudulently concealed the malpractice. Our Grand Blanc medical malpractice lawyers can advise you about how the law applies to your case. When I called and talked to the lawyer, he told me that I only had 2 years and wished me luck at finding a lawyer that would take my case. I brought up the 6 year statute of repose and he seemed to not know anything about it. I've heard nothing but good things about this law firm but in my opinion if you have a medical malpractice lawsuit more than 2 years, look somewhere's else.
