No one was making fun of anyone for being hard of hearing. Using that as an excuse for her being irritated with answering the phone is unacceptable from a place of business. Now I understand why your office respond to all 1 star reviews with such defensive childish behavior. I’d like to recommend a book. “How to win friends and influence people”. Take care
I am glad you are going somewhere else after making fun of someone for possibly being hard of hearing. I suspect with that attitude you will have a difficult time finding a lawyer, and you might find there are less lawyers than you think in Fairbanks, and they all charge more. You were put on hold because we get a lot of calls and we help a lot of people. Someone who would make fun of the disabled does not deserve our assistance, and really do not deserve anyone's assistance.
We paid $300 for some advice over the phone. Jason Weiner gave some good information, but relied on AI, didn't seem to understand Alaska Statute 23.05.140(d), even after asking about it by number, and was driving for most of the discussion.
Mr. Costello's claims are inaccurate. AS 23.05.140 addresses payment of all wages for hours worked due upon termination of employment. However, this was not the issue. We were talking about what constituted hours worked. We were also talking about several other issues which had nothing to do with AS 23.05.140, which I am not going to discuss so as to avoid violating the attorney client privilege even though there really is none because Mr. Costello was on the phone with the client and he waived any privilege by discussing our consultation publicly on this forum. Mr. Costello was not the client.
Yes, I did use AI to get a quick answer to the questions being asked during the consultation because the questions I was being asked were specific to where the person worked, and the client gave me no information whatsoever, no handbooks, no policy manuals, nothing to tell me what the store's policy was. I was certainly not driving when I did that, and Mr. Costello's statements are contradictory in that regard. What I saw on AI was consistent with what I know about employment law, and that was what I told them. The AI was based on an article from 2014, which was the best I could find on short notice.
They had several questions, of which payment for hours worked was only one, which I answered over a one hour consultation that cost them $300.00. They did not give me the questions beforehand, and did not ask for additional research.
People complain all the time about attorneys being unwilling to help hard working individuals that are not in the top 1% of income levels. It is reviews like this that is the reason why. I did the best I believe anyone could do with the limited information I was given and answered questions which are rarely, if ever, asked. It would not surprise me that with this kind of treatment, people like Mr. Costello will not be able to find any help at all. I am one of the few attorneys in Alaska left willing to listen to people's problems on a wide range of legal topics at a price that is amongst the lowest in the State of Alaska.
Needing a lawyer is never a good thing, but having Chris on my side made all the difference. From day one to the very end, Chris and the entire team were amazing — always prompt, extremely professional, and consistently great with communication. Their former employee, Jennifer, was also incredible during the time she worked with me on my case. Her support and dedication meant a lot. Thank you very much for everything you did for me. I truly appreciate it.
Kristen Farleigh was very sloppy and didn't turn in any of my paperwork on time to the point that the judge denied it when she finally did! She missed half of the court hearings for various reasons! At the very end of my case when we finally reached a custody agreement the judge gave 30 days to finalize and 8 months later kristen is no where to be found..... she ghosted me and the opposing council forcing a modifier losing all ground I had gained and it cost over $3,000 for nothing!
Only lawyer in Fairbanks that’s would take on my case. Got me 50/50 custody and worth the price. He also gave me military discount.
I am not sure who this is since there is no last name. If this individual would post their last name, I would be happy to respond. Otherwise, I am not going to guess.
Jason didn't actually help me with my case but he gave me advice that other attorney's wouldn't he seems to be way affordable compared to the rest, I am considering on bringing my custody case to him in the near future because I don't know what I'm doing but Jason seems to be very professional and well educated in law, my original attorney retired. So I think I'm going to start using Jason
AMAZING service. Christopher Bodle is extremely helpful. Highly recommend this firm.
I would like to share my experience with Jason and his team, for all their hard work during one of my toughest moments in my younger years in my life. And I appreciate him for all the support that he has given me. He is one of the best gentleman that gave me one of the best advice on what I needed helped with in the moments when I needed it. I would give him (credit) if I need it during the next time around, if I socially need it. And I Thank Him And His Team’s For The Help That They Gave Me. Thank You! The Next Generations Will Help Deliver It On.
It has been years since using this legal team. They made many horrible impressions though. From not showing up to court on time, to asking for copies of documents from the other side in court they should have already had, it made a tough life situation even worse. Weiner called me up directly one time to yell at me for having a balance with them, before even announcing who he was I might add. Then he had the nerve to tell me he would continue to represent me out of some favor for being military. My attorney was in and out, and at one point I was being represented by a billing person with prior paralegal experience. Oh, the patalegal assigned to my case had left to go work for the law office representing the other side, and of course being a small town, there was a spouse to the other side's attorney working with this firm. Maybe not illegal actions but things you would like to be made aware of that concern you that were never brought up. At one point, my attorney even advocated for the other side during a mediation session. It was completely unprofessional, undermining, and humiliating. Do not recommend, especially for anyone with military connections. This was just my personal experience. I cannot attest to anyone else.
Professional,prompt,and courteous
They are the best 😁
We didn't feel that his legal opinion was incorrect but he is condescending, spoke over us and was completely unconcerned about our issue. He was clearly bothered to be on the phone with us despite being paid for his time.
Where to begin.i wanted to start a small LLC fast. I new how to do it myself, but I didn't want to deal with it and I wanted to put my time into the business and not all the legal paper work at the beginning again. $4000 and 7 months later he has barely started. I started with Chris in September 2023 and in March 2024 I left for a few lawyer. He drags his feet on everything, and overtime I call or email them to check in and see if they will start they charge me for the call or email. He dosnt do most of the work, he contracts most of it to a contractor who lives in Tennessee. She's really great but she can't get Chris to do anything either. They take big lump Somes and what ever they charge you they take out of the lump some they already have, I think that's pretty normal. But how is this person going to charge thousands of dollars and then call me back months later after I've been contracting them regularly to get this stuff done and they say "ya you are all out, we need another lump some" and he gives me an llc ein, and a rough draft of an opporating agreement that has spelling errors. Not even a state business license with it. And when i ask him to give me a waver form for my customers Chris says "oh you can do that yourself" i know i can do it myself ive done all of this before i just wanted to not have to deal with it and pay the pretty penny for you to do it. We tell them we're moving in a diffrent direction and would like our remaining balance back from the second lump some and it takes 2 months of me calling and emailing them to give me back a simple $330 for my remaining balance. They just kept saying there accounts services needed to do that and they would let them know. If you want to use him as a lawyer run. If you see Chris is a lawyer against you, cheer. Other than that Chris is a pretty strait up and nice guy. People seem to love to work for him, he even let's them dring their dogs to the office. I'd love that. He's not cheep so it's not a pay for what you get situation, but he's not ridiculously expensive either.
Mike Cavalier was knowledgeable and extremely easy to work with.
Their firm was a no show for a hearing.... Response: You didn't research very far!
