My husband was not sure about going to attorney but let’s be truthful the insurance company is not there to help you get what’s right for you, my husband got sick (not related to the worker’s compensation injury)we felt that WC insurance was pushing the settle out and low balls us. Larry and the staff got me a settlement even after my husband had passed away they still took care of everything. When Starbucks’ Sedgwick Insurance tried to avoid paying on an obvious work injury when my wife fell on black ice (due to Starbucks policy of downplaying employee safety in severe historic Northern Nevada ICE storms ) and fell on the black ice and broke her wrist and injured her hand, Jay Short personally attended her disability exam appointment, expeditiously filed an appeal to the insurance companies obvious error in judgment. Then, when the Starbucks’ Sedgwick insurance company did not follow the Nevada Hearing Officers orders on a 1st appeal, Jay promptly filed a 2nd appeal, this time to the Nevada Judge in charge of workers comp cases and WON a decision against the Starbucks’ Sedgwick Insurance Company to include my wife’s disabled hand in the settlement. > Jay Short charged the minimum amount he could to take our case and did not even require an upfront retainer. I try my best to stay away from reviews, but for this situation, there is no way I can keep quiet. I do believe in giving credit, where credit is due.
