Called in to get some information regarding adoption, they were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Joel not only failed to accomplish or file anything properly but also billed us $7,400 without producing any results. We ultimately had to let him go due to his lack of competence, after which he billed us for everything—including calls—because he wouldn’t stand up for my wife and our children. Avoid this attorney. His questionable practices and lack of accountability make him a liability to his own clients rather than a defender against the opposition.

This man has gone downhill over the years. If you’re looking for a family law attorney that has no bite or bark. Joel is your guy. If you have a high conflict spouse or ex spouse. Joel will literally worry more about his hair than fighting for you and your families needs. If you want an attorney who wants to fight he is absolutely not your guy. He will basically redirect any concerns back to you and seek to get you to mediate rather than actually do what you pay him to do. Him and the rest of the Amarillo attorneys have all lost their luster (minus a select few). But if you have a fight on your hands with your ex, swing far from Joel, he is more concerned with protecting his relationship with opposing counsel than he is fighting for you and your family.
