Karie L Sanoba Attorney at Law

Called to schedule a consultation with the attorney for a family law case, they took my information and my ex info and proceeded with scheduling and asked for the consultation fee. I declined to pay and stated i'd pay day of consultation (i've been screwed by paying in advance before). Got a call from their office just a few days before the consultation stating that they couldn't meet with me and hung up. I called back because it was extremely weird and off putting, they stated that they represented my ex in the divorce, which is false because he didn't have representation during our divorce. They were rude and dismissive when I called back, which I find to be very unprofessional. I've heard from others that they can be unprofessional. Glad I didn't spend money with them.

She said that she would refund my money and she didn't. Her and her assistant are very rude after they take your money. I also read the review and I just caulked it up and told myself that she couldn’t be that bad. I was very much mistaken.

I really wanted to go with Ms. Sanoba to represent me in my upcoming divorce, but I was so turned off by her nasty rude receptionist, I have to look elsewhere.

I hired Karie Sanoba to represent me in my divorce proceedings and i am glad I did. She is knowledgeable and understands divorce law. Her advice through the entire process was invaluable, she was organized and well prepared for all judicial hearings, and she will fight for you in court. Divorce is an ugly thing but, I recommend anyone going through it to hire Ms. Sanoba.

If you need an aggressive attorney, she is it. Staff is rough at times but compassionate at times. I hate that I am having to use her services.

She and her ashtray smelling side kick will drain you and do very very little to help your situation. Then she will put a lien on your property and drain you some more. This was the worst mistake I ever made in my life was hiring Karie L. Sanoba. Go find a better attorney. This attorney is a crook! You deserve to be treated better.

I hired Ms. Sanoba based on 2 recommendations from friends. While going through the divorce process Ms. Denise and Ms. Sanoba were wonderful. Ms. Denise, who is the paralegal is very organized and detail oriented. Ms. Sanoba is wonderful in court and will get you more than you expect.

Choosing to hire Karie L. Sanoba proved to be one of the worst decisions I could have made during a difficult and stressful time. I was referred to her by someone else who was getting divorced and said I would be in “good hands”. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I too, checked the reviews and regret not taking heed to the very real experiences other people had written. Instead I gave her the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to “disgruntled clients”. BIG MISTAKE. Listen, what people say about her is TRUE. In the 9 months since I hired her my divorce case has gone nowhere. The temporary relief hearing, she argued NOTHING for 15 minutes against someone who was pro se. No counsel. What did she argue for 15 minutes when he didn’t even have a lawyer? NOTHING. My ex-husband got 50/50 timesharing because he argued better than her! Court ordered mediation was never scheduled, child support was never reconfigured after my ex-husband provided updated financials and the motions to hold him in contempt were never filed. I have been in “square one” so to speak, since day one. The worst part is the way Karie Sanoba and her paralegal Denise treat their clients. Its deplorable. They are rude, condescending and belittling. I was patient, courteous and trusting of the process. However, that didn’t matter. Every phone call and email had the same inconsiderate and disrespectful tone. Ive paid over $6k of a $10k bill for little to absolutely nothing but calls and emails. When I told her I was a victim of domestic violence later in the case and that both me and a friend of mine had been attacked by my ex-husband, neither Sanoba or her assistant even asked if I was ok or showed any compassion or empathy. Her assistant interrupted me and said “put it in writing”. CLICK. Sanoba did nothing. Except charge me of course, for the phone call to her office and the email she requested. After all of that, I get another bill in the mail before Christmas. As a single mother and a Polk County teacher, I get paid monthly. Except in December, when teachers are without a check for 6 weeks due to the winter break pay schedule. Thinking I would have at least 30 days to pay the bill, I didn’t anticipate any problems… Less than 30 days later, I get an email from Sanoba that she is suing me for non-payment seeking wage garnishment and going after any property I have. Sanoba had filed motions to the judge to order this proceeding and tacked on an additional thousand dollars to the bill that been mailed less than a month prior. My response was simply what I explained in this review to which she responded “don’t take it personal”. WOW. Friends, please don’t make the same mistake I made by ignoring truthful experiences. You need an attorney that is on your team and out for your best interests. One that you can talk to and one who is willing to speak to your concerns and worries as they arise. Karie Sanoba is NOT that attorney. The only time you will see her is the first visit, just to get you to sign her. She doesn’t care about what happens to you. Unfortunately divorce and custody issues are not a time that you can afford to have a callous, pretentious, condescending, disrespectful individual taking your money and doing nothing to earn it.

Horrible attorney! Doesn't return calls, shows up to court unprepared, over charges for the most basic things, and her assistant is rude. Ask around to people who have actually used her and I guarantee you will get same response. Worst attorney in Polk county!
