Great advice on a complicated issue
I lease a 2022 Land Rover Discovery that was plague with “low battery-Please start engine” warning. I been told multiple times by the service department that i have to drive long distance. The third time i took the vehicle for service they will just charge the battery and send me on my way and a week later the warning comes back and the problem worsen. The trunk will not open, the key will not function, the vehicle will stall, the screen intermittently black out on me. I started to lose faith on the vehicle and i feel it did not really give me the value and performance LR promised their consumer. Before then i was driving a 20 year old car but when i was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and my treatments are out of town long drives we decided to lease a more reliable vehicle to get to all my Medical appointments that are out of town but we end up with a very unreliable vehicle and LR service Dept. are very dismissive and lack of concern. By the 5th occurrence of the warning my frustrations turned into hopelessness. I know there is a Lemon Law but i have no knowledge about it just as many others until we have car problems. I started reading if my car problems qualify but i was adamant and i start looking up a California Lemon Lawyers to help me sort it out. I chance upon Atty. Scott on avvo answering lemon law questions and upon checking he has a stellar review. The next day i decided to call his office and i spoke to the Intake specialist Leilani. She was very informative and she asked me to send her all my work orders and she will submit it for review if my case qualify. Few days later she called me by phone that they will take my case, I breathed a sigh of relief. The same day i was sent a retainer document to sign. This is not an overnight-quick process. It takes patience and tolerance. communications are through email so that there are paper trail to go back to. However slow i am confident that the firm is on my side. Emails are promptly returned and answer. Leilani is very thorough and informative. When my case went to the next step Breana Hildebrant gave me the minute order of my case and has been so amazing to communicate to. Atty. Scott took on my case. He’s very generous of his knowledge, very informative and thorough. He returns emails promptly and he gives me a call when needed. He was honest and transparent. He advice me not to expect too much but he promised me that he will do his best for me and i never doubted him for a second. Sure enough he over delivers. The settlement offer was more than i expected and thats because of his expertise and many years of experience in the business. My case took 11 months from start to settlement. A radio silent for few months its because the firm have no control over the response of the Manufacturer and the court takes a lot of time as well but when the ball start rolling Atty Scott is on it. He is the best. He would not be highly rated for no reason. There are honest people out there and Atty. Scott, Leilani and Breana are one of them. They take pride of what they do. Its comforting to know that there are good, honest firm who will fight for you and your hard earned money and make these Car Manufacturer accountable. Dear Atty. Scott, Leilani and Breana, Thank you from the bottom of my heart. As i continue my battle with Breast Cancer you have no idea how appreciative i am that i am now in a position to put myself in a better vehicle. My settlement would help me pay my new car and that is something less of me to worry. This is my first experience with really any attorney, K&K were recommended by a friend of a friend and I’m glad they were! They heard about my lemon Law case and said I have a solid case and should be able to get the help I was looking for. I had bought a 4-year-old used truck from a small mom and pop dealership. The transmission blew the 2nd day I owned the truck and was in and out of the shop for the next 4 months. I was told by numerous law firms that my truck did not meet the criteria to go through the lemon law process due to numerous different factors. I reached out to Kaufman & Kavicky and they informed me that not only DID my truck meet the criteria, but they were confident that they could win the lawsuit against Ford Motor Company and accepted my case. The entire process took quite a few months but they did in-fact win the lawsuit. All I did was chat and email with these guys, but their advice was priceless and they responded quickly. Gave me some info to fight with a used car dealer that was trying to jerk me around, it was nice to have some knowledge to fight with them and luckily I got the refund I was due. Can't comment on anything other than that, but they were very helpful and if I ever need a lemon lawyer I know where to go.
