I'm not sure how to rate my experience with opposing counsel Kevin. It was comical. It was surreal. It was educational. Assets and debts were modest and the matter was simple. I offered to do it myself at no cost. But my mean girl inlaw was best friends with Kevin in high school ( where I co- existed in the 1980s as some kind of geek) so we all ended up in court with lawyers generating fees and first class theatrics. He jumped out of his chair in court and ran at me in an arc pattern pointing his finger aggressively and shouting " you have a mental illness that makes you imagine things, don't you!" ( Like the photos) I think I was supposed to jump out of the witness box screaming so he could call me crazy and blame me for the divorce. He thrust an email in my hand then snatched it back and demanded I explain. My lawyer was in cahoots with him so I dropped out from the whole enterprise and spent my time sending him " feminist protest poems." I wrote great creative works about my legal travails, sending them out as text messages late at night. The mediator must have been another insider pal of Kevin's. She was so aggressive I ended up in the ER uncontrollably vomiting and had to go to bed for 3 days. I refused Kevin's last hour offers and sent Kevin a personal fax saying " NO MEANS NO"; It was dirty. I decided to change course and write a graphic novel : "Family Law: Love, Hate and Obvious Malpractice" and a one woman play " Superlawyer." If I had to do it again, I would sign off and go take a vacation.

Horrible experience with an uncontested, simple and clean divorce. Extremely regret hiring him, as he now holds my divorce hostage with the demand of more money without justification and after refusing to do the one thing I hired him to do.

Not a very thoughtful person. Filed (or his girlfriend filed) documents incorrectly causing a trial delay.

Kevin Hoop did more damage than the divorce itself. Incompetent, aggressive, and alarmingly unconcerned with fairness or truth. He orchestrated a bizarre trade—my car in exchange for custody of my own cat. It felt less like legal representation and more like extortion. He treated me with open contempt throughout the process. If you’re looking for resolution, keep looking. If you’re looking for a petty bully with a law license…

This guy will tell you what a great case you have. He will charge you out the nose to send emails back and forth with opposing councel. Eventually he will tell you "just to settle", stating "Going to court will get very expensive". I speak from experience.

Kevin did a fantastic job helping me bring my daughter back. Professional, personal and reasonable. I highly recommend him!

If you want an amazing family lawyer that won't take advantage of you, hire Kevin! He is an amazing lawyer who will fight for you and your kids. I refer everyone I know who is going through a divorce or child custody.
