I'm a teacher and I was rear ended and sent forward into another car. I had two children with me too. I am totally new any sort of law involving injury. Being new, I didn't know the process of collecting documentation in what was said among medical professionals and did a poor job. I called two attorneys before Khan Law. They wouldn't take me because they had no faith that I would fetch them anything substantial. Hamza and Khan took me right away and understood what I went through. Hamza helped me to navigate what the insurance companies were thinking and their underhanded ways to avoid responsibility. The defense insurance company tried to fabricate a story saying that I was hit twice instead of once; claiming that they were only 50% at fault... The truth was revealed, but their lie put a lot of stress on me. Hamza was very professional and good at explaining things in lay terms. Things looked very grim since the doctors specifically did not write in the documentation that the cause of the injury was the accident. The doctors knew it, said it, but didn't document it. That was my fault since I should have told them to document it. Hamza was honest and had a lot of experience in knowing about the experience of arbitrators, knowing the experience of the defense attorneys, as well as knowing our chances to be successful. Our case looked weak, again my fault. Hamza helped me and my family feel comfortable throughout the process of the depositions and the final arbitration. I had little faith due to our weak case. Two days before, we put in a settlement offer which was fair, knowing our case was weak. Likely, defense would have offered less and we would have taken it. However, they never responded to our offer (too bad for them). Throughout the arbitration, I had little faith we would get compensated for our medical bills. During closing arguments, Hamza pulled out a cape (metaphorically) and wore it with calm and resolve. Holy crap, he ripped apart the defense and called them out on their lack of expert witnesses. Defense try to use my own words against me (defense was grasping at straws), but Hamza countered with an obvious explanation and exposed how desperate the defense was. After Hamza's phenomenal closing, we were awarded about $10,000 more than our last offer. After the massive award, he fought for a discount from my doctors and found more compensation for me. Initially, the doctor wouldn't budge on the discount. He kept at it, and we received more. Talk about going up to bat for someone and even after the doctor initially said "No". I never told Hamza that I used to volunteer in the Cook County Prosecuting Attorney's office (Chicago); domestic violence division. I'm not a lawyer, but I've seen a few closing arguments in the courtroom. Compared to what I've witnessed, Hamza's closing blew me out of the water. My wife heard it too and we couldn't stop talking about it. He knew his job inside and out. Thank you, Hamza and Khan Injury Law Firm.
