Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and communication. I completed an intake consultation over two weeks ago and never received any follow-up. When I called to check on my case, the paralegal who handled my intake, Emily Sanchez, didn’t even remember speaking with me. I was told someone would follow up by the end of the day, no one ever did. I called once on Wednesday, and now two days later, still nothing. I took the time to share my personal situation in detail, hoping for help, but ended up wasting my time and effort. I contacted Kitzer Rochel in regards to a USERRA complaint I had after coming home from deployment in early 2022. I was a MN National Guard soldier, and my former employer claimed I didn't have a right to my old position because I missed an email while overseas. I followed the proper procedure, filing a formal USERRA complaint, going through ESGR mediation, and eventually, I was assigned a case manager through the US Department of Labor. The way that case manager handled it made me feel like I had no hope and almost as if I was in the wrong. I, somewhat whimsically, sent an email in late August 2022 and got a call later the same day asking for more information. Brian Rochel handled my case, and it was completely painless on my end. All I had to do was spend 30 minutes sending him relevant info once, read/sign a few documents, and answer his phone calls/emails every week or two in order to reach a solution. We never had to meet face to face. This was in stark contrast to how I was treated by the veteran's case manager I was assigned by the DOL, being talked down to in a frustrated/hostile tone, daily nit-picking phone calls, and they seemed to side with my former employer from the start. Mr. Rochel was very helpful by making sure I had reasonable expectations and answering any questions I had about the process (I had zero legal experience at this point). I believe that Mr. Rochel secured me the best possible outcome, and I learned a great deal about the legal process. I am completely satisfied with the work he did.
