I wanted to leave this review specifically for Jamie Shimp, the attorney I worked with on my late mother's estate. He has been nothing short of outstanding from start to finish. From the beginning, he provided excellent guidance on what things I should or shouldn't do as a fiduciary. He relayed directions clearly and I always felt like I understood what the next steps were and why we were taking them. I also learned how many pitfalls there can be in the process! Without a doubt, the amount the estate saved by avoiding mistakes was well worth the fees. When the estate suddenly became complicated, I think Jamie's caliber as an attorney really shined. Suffice to say that a mix of family, money, and disagreement can produce complex emotions and difficult situations. Making it through requires great care as well as making smart, sometimes challenging, compromises. Jamie was excellent at navigating the turbulence and I'm grateful for his ability to keep us grounded throughout it all. Summary: I worked with Jamie Shimp from Kohnen & Patton. From a professional standpoint I can say he was knowledgeable, timely, discerning. I always felt that the estate's interests were at the forefront of his decision making. From a personal standpoint, I never felt judgment for the situation I was dealing with, and I appreciated his ability to empathize all the while keeping us focused on what mattered. He was excellent and exceeded expectations.
