Many lawyers do not know the SS rules and they should really just not say anything when they do not know what they are talking about. I called and to try to get help with my SSI and they told me that NO person could draw SSI after retirement age! That is not true, so if you need help with SSI, you might want to try other places if an attorney tells you that you cannot get SSI after retirement age for any reason, and that SSI reverts back to retirement benefits." That person is wrong. Here is what I read on Social Security website says: Anyone who is: age 65 or older; blind; or disabled. and, who: has limited income has limited resources; like low wages or SS. Good luck if you are trying to get it.
