Don’t even call, I was met with an extremely rude woman when calling to inquire about a lawyer. Did not even introduce herself and when I mentioned I was calling to start a case she interrupted me and told me I was calling too late in the day/week

Absolute rancid communication. No urgency even though Emergency is of the matter in my case and it’s known. Furthermore they offer a hybrid contract so they can really cash out big but it’s very unusual because they will take money out of your restitution, as well as the hourly pay. You’ll be wise not to go through these guys, because I think They will make your life harder and worse on your case. At least that’s my experience so far.

I did not reach out to this attorney based on not only the many low rated reviews but also after doing a little research I found this attorney was reprimanded a few years ago for ethics violations. Be advised, the Oregon State Bar is referring this attorney when using their Attorney Referral Service online. I’m glad I double checked before reaching out to them.

I had a great experience with Lafky and Lafky law firm. I was looking for a lawyer to help me review an employment contract. In the first consultation I worked with Dori Brattain and she quickly helped me understand what I needed to know about my contract and if there were any concerns. Dori was easy to talk to and very personable. I would highly recommend their services.

BEWARE!!!! No communication. Despite multiple emails over 3 weeks, Ms. Brattain never replied. Not even the courtesy to say, sorry, I can't represent you. Despite over a month of attempts, NO REPLY! ZERO accountability. I submitted complaint to Oregon State Bar, and this is what they said! Dear Christopher Ewing: The Oregon State Bar Intake and Client Assistance Office (CAO) has received your correspondence inquiring about the conduct of lawyer Dora Brattain. The CAO is responsible for reviewing concerns regarding lawyers in Oregon. Under Oregon State Bar Rule of Procedure 2.5 and as resources permit, CAO determines the manner and extent of review required to decide whether sufficient evidence has been submitted to support a reasonable belief that lawyer misconduct may have occurred, warranting a referral to Oregon State Bar Disciplinary Counsel for further evaluation and potential regulatory action. Misconduct means a violation of the rules of professional conduct and applicable statutes that govern lawyer conduct in Oregon. You consulted with Ms. Brattain July 29, 2025, in hope of retaining her to represent you in an employment-related legal matter. Ms. Brattain requested additional information which you provided promptly after the consultation. Over the following two weeks, you sent follow up communications seeking an answer whether Ms. Brattain would represent you. Ms. Brattain did not respond. You sent final communications to Ms. Brattain on the afternoon of Thursday, August 20, 2025, demanding her response and warning that you would file a complaint against her if she did not respond. Sunday morning August 24, you filed this complaint. Having reviewed all the relevant information submitted, I conclude that there is no sufficient basis to warrant a referral to Disciplinary Counsel. Ms. Brattain only consulted with you about the possibility of agreeing to take on your representation. The only duty Ms. Brattain owed to you prior to agreeing to represent you relates to maintaining confidentiality regarding your legal matter. Although you may have felt disrespected when Ms. Brattain did not more quickly agree to represent you, the events you describe do not support a reasonable belief that Ms. Brattain engaged in misconduct. Because I find no sufficient evidence of professional misconduct, I will take no further action on this matter. If you disagree with this disposition, you may have the matter reviewed by General Counsel, provided we receive your request for review in writing no later than September 26, 2025. Horrible service. Sophia K Harris one of the lawyers here did not show up to the first court date in person claims she was “sick” cool so she shows up via phone. Second court date comes around and shows up at the wrong court house. Leaving a client by himself at the correct court house. Judge was upset and even got her in trouble for it. Finally Shows up to the third one. Fourth court date comes around and client is greeted by a completely new lawyer. No notification or heads up whatsoever on behalf of the office. We pay too much to receive this type of service money & Time wasted. Would not recommend this office.

Erin Mee was wonderful and kept my son and I informed, optimistic, and she researched and got onboard professionals who assisted us to prove our case. She answered emails, calls, was prepared at meetings and informed thr judge of important facts that won our case. I would highly recommend Erin Mee and Kevin Lafky for anyone that needs to win their case!!

Lafky yea..you did work hard but I know you and you're team could of fought way harder and much more instead of a quick settlement..I was disappointed how it was..and came in...and i knew you guys could of fought harder on my case then you did..

I was arrested for a crime I didn't commit. When I entered the legal arena my reality that was frame worked by the "just world fallacy", and the "CSI effect" had been completely broken when spending the night in solitary . Nothing is as clean in the world as it appears in movies and shows. When this started my first attorney told me to "see how it goes and take a deal". When I went to Erin Mee, and Kevin Lafky they encouraged me to fight every step of the way. I hired them because they didn't tell me what I wanted to hear, but because they were honest about my situation, but already had a clear and decisive counter strategy before the end of the consultation. Erin came to every hearing, she answered every single call, gave me the best advice she possibly could. She curated for me several specialists with multiple options in their respective fields as well as helping me find the least devastating price point. Due to Erin and her prodigious selections helped me build a case that with double digit felonies including all letters of the alphabet derailed (case dismissed) the states case days before trial which was the best possible outcome for all parties. My case was rare, disgusting, and the state even played pretty dirty*. I believe that without this firm and the expertise these attorneys provided for me. I would be sentenced to prison for the rest of my life for something I didn't even do. I recommend them to anyone and everyone who wants a millionaires legal team, but not gate kept for the common person.

Kevin Lafky is a great attorney and I am glad he was recommended to me.

Kevin Lafky lost every motion for us. Had opposing counsel garnish our bank account for their attorney fees, and Kevin Lafky stated "sorry about that, I did not give you the heads up. usually when judgements go against us, they wait until arbitration to garnish wages, so if we win, they don't have to pay the money back". These Attorneys that had credibility in the past, suck with their current track records and reviews of today.

Called last month to schedule a consultation. I spoke with Dori after it took a week to be scheduled. Dori told me she would talk to her partner about my case.. guess what though no response since our initial conversation. Oregon State Bar needs to remove this firm from their list of attorneys.

Do not use these guys they are horrible with communication go elsewhere trust me not worth your time and they don't respect yours....this whole process has been sketchy with them to say the least!!!

They never return phone calls. Make an appointment just to make an appointment. Canceled, postpone and reschedule till the statute of limitations expire and they still collect money regardless of our outcome. This is why we say lawyers are vultures

Not good communication or response time. Generally horrible firm. Owner said the second letter we needed sent there would be no charge. That said why am I getting the overpriced shipping charge and to add insult to injury a .01 cent finance charge. I called and complained. They still keep sending them. Do not use this place. A retired federal judge gave me their name and now I get to tell her how awful they are and to never refer people again. Erin was just awful.

I was given there by the DOJ to get counsel for a civil rights case. And the person on the phone basically told me to deal with it cause these small towns here are racist and basically they can't help. I explained to the person that had a case number from Lowes that had been closed out without any contact from them and that I have the NAACP involved as well trying to get answers to why the case was closed without any communication. And still the person didn't even care. It's very disappointing to get treated like they didn't care cause the person that I said there no monetary value to the case. Being a Blackman in America is the same in all this country. I am a Army VET with PTSD, anxiety and depression. The person didn't even bat an eye when I told them that my disorder had been highly trigger due to dealing with this situation for almost two years now.
