If I could leave 0 stars I would, my son has been trying to get ahold of Chris for a few weeks. Retained a year ago moved out of state had some trouble finding work and was overwhelmed with his life. I called Chris today concerned because my Son couldn’t get through, he answered for me but not my Son. Had the nerve to tell me that ADHD/Autstic is no excuse for my Son. This Man took my $ and dropped the case with no official withdrawal!!! Very RUDE on the phone. BEWARE!!!
The Rules of Professional Conduct do not allow attorneys to discuss allegations concerning supposed individual cases or clients - even for the sake of defending their professional reputation in forums like Google Reviews. The duty of confidentiality to clients - current, former, even deceased - is paramount and an attorney may only respond and dispel allegations against their work in forums such as lawsuits or bar disciplinary proceedings. <br>We will say the following generic facts: (1) as other reviews can attest; we've been well known for being responsive to clients for years. Everyone receives not just Chris’ work email, but also his personal cell. That doesn't mean everything Chris has to tell them is what they want to hear, but Chris does maintain contact; (2) court records are fully available in online filing systems. The Law Office of Chris Van Vechten does not withdraw from cases without an official filing, meaning an actual document filed in court. It is not possible to “unofficially” withdraw. In some cases, a client – after retaining the law office of Chris Van Vechten – makes the decision for one reason or another – to “go on the run.” When this happens, Chris tries to encourage them to return, sometimes with success. But if they do not, the contract Chris signs with clients expressly states that he will withdraw within 90 days of a FTA and/or the issuing of a warrant. Chris does not remain on cases in prolonged warrant status as that would require being willing/able to be there for the client whenever and wherever they are eventually captured to the detriment of other clients who are showing up; (3) every client who signs up with the law office of Chris Van Vechten does so by signing a contract with mutual obligations and duties between the attorney and client. I had hired Chris many years ago to help me out in a case, and he knows his stuff. He’s always on top of the laws and the relevance it has regarding your case, and he’s always on top of it. Recently, I had the honor of rehiring him again to take care of some personal business for me and again excellent service. I was honored having his representation during my criminal case when the Jude paused and gave him great credit. By asking Mr. Vanvetchin repeat that? After The Judge stated, "you're good, you are really good. I like that!" He exclaimed. Then gave him the most respectful look I ever saw a judge use. Chris is very professional and helped me out very much in my case saved me a lot of stress would recommend 100% worth every penny spent one of the best criminal defense attorneys in the area and has reasonable raits.
