We were in a really stressful situation after a customer decided to sue us, despite our genuine efforts to make things right. The customer had even hired a lawyer to send us a threatening letter in an attempt to pressure us before officially filing the lawsuit. Initially, we hired a different attorney who assured us we had nothing to worry about. We notified him the same day we were served, about three months before the court date, but as the date got closer (right around the holidays), he completely flipped on us. He accused us of not giving him enough time, demanded an unreasonable retainer (despite a prior agreement), and failed to follow through on communication. That’s when we found Gabe. We explained our situation and timeline, and even though it was short notice, he stepped in without hesitation. His fee was more than fair, especially considering the circumstances.
