John Herrick at least does his due diligence as a guardian ad litem when it comes to children involved in the system. Neither parents nor children would have a voice if every guardian ad litem followed the recommendations made by the department. He speaks to all parties necessary to determine what he feels is in the child's best interest. If parents disagree, he is willing to listen and he doesn't judge you without hearing your side of your story too. Anyone who has a story, past, or dealing with CPS knows how the things they write and say about you are just that....stories. It is too easy to lose your children these days by simply being judged and hated in the system, but at least you know you have the benefit of doubt when speaking with GAL John Herrick. Unfortunately, you will find out that the District Attorney has all the say in sabotaging reunification and then acquiring a summary judgement for the termination of your parental rights. They lie and say you can still bring your child home and know that its not possible as soon as they file for TPR. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD AND A TRIAL SHOULD BE A RIGHT AS A PARENT, BUT NEITHER IS. Even the GAL can not change the outcome of a judgemental DA. How sad this is for the families losing their babies forever to people like JOAN KORB, who don't care what anyone wants or says, not even the child involved or the siblings. She just tears families apart and doesn't think twice. Nor does she take the time to know you or give you a fair chance. If she does not like you, your right as a parent is over.
