Review Updated: My late father hired Ms. Toombs about a month before he passed away. She prepared all the necessary legal documents (such as his will, health care proxy, and power of attorney) for a reasonable fee. She also handled the closing on our family’s old home, also at a fair rate. My earlier negative review was based on a misunderstanding caused by a former employee of Ms. Toombs, named Pat, who contacted our family after leaving the office. Unfortunately, we trusted her and allowed her to take over POA responsibilities, but in hindsight, we felt this was a mistake and deeply regretted not staying with Ms. Toombs from the start. That situation caused a lot of confusion and stress for our family. We’re grateful that Ms. Toombs was professional and understanding when I contacted her to straighten things out. Overall, she was a good elder care attorney for our family. Since English is not my mother's first language and father had done everything for her (so she had a big learning curve), I help support her in communication and decision-making. Thank you again, Ms. Toombs.

I want to thank the attorneys, Kate Toombs and Chris for helping me for the last 9 years with their professional services and knowledge to overcome the ups and downs that life shocked me unexpectedly. I was completely blown away by their excellent hard work done in a timely manner and attention to detail regarding setting up a family trust and managing my investments that would benefit me the most. The closing on my house was handled with confidence. Being a retired teacher, I looked for attorneys, who were precise and compassionate and who would create a line of communication that is understood by their clients. I can't thank them enough for allowing me to rest at ease with the necessary documents in place upon my passing. Being a teacher, I would give them an A+.

In July of 2020, I gave Toombs Law a $2000.00 retainer for a guardianship matter involving a relative of mine. A Toombs associate handled or should I write did not handle my case in a timely matter. I called the associate at Toombs Law in February of 2021, asking where is my situation at. Only then did the associate start any process on my behalf but by this late date my guardianship case was moot due to circumstances that had arisen during the 7 months that my legal matter sat on the associate's desk. If Toombs Law had got to work when I retained them, I may have at least obtained temporary guardianship.
