I'm a physical person. I'd never fallen before, except as a kid ice skating. I danced, wrote bicycles and walked. I look like a Midwestern mom. I had worked for an animal shelter and was meeting my friend to help her walking my rescue dog with he very disagreeable jack Russell rescue which despised everyone but her, me and my dog. I entered her luxurious lobby, busy with bikes and messengers and doormen eating, I headed up the marble stairs and floor and saw just at this busiest time one of the doormen was washing the floor, I politely waited. I tried to get him to tell me where to walk, just a grunt and no eye contact I waited, I gave up and walked toward the entrance to the apartments thinking the grunt means okay. I should've gone home, I slipped and fell forward holding my dog on the leash. I didn't fall on her, I fell on my side. My knee and my arm were hurt. But surprisingly I was helpless. I couldn't push or move that leg to get up. I'm face down in my friends lobby near the elevator. The doorman John, continued to ignore me. But another doorman, Ralph whose mom had fallen, picked me up from face down who saw me slip while eating lunch. I was truly embarrassed and was confused. I had never fallen except as a kid ice skating and then I got up by myself. I'm up! My knee hurt standing on both legs and my arm didn't work. I limped out holding my dangling arm. I ran into my friend Ellie and her dog Micaela, who was pulling and growling and snapping at the people in the lobby. She said go to urgent care who sent me to the hospital. I know nothing about what to do next, who can help? The Dr gave me a cast, rest and physical therapist who referred me to Lizette Muniz. Hurray! I felt completely heard by Lizette and that she could help. If the case was lost no fee. Lizette listened, she was comforting and my shyness and embarrassment left as she gave me the strength to realize that I had a case. She was honest, with COVID it could take years. i was ready to give up and live in pain. LIzette Muniz helped me realize I have a right to try together. Lizette has helped me on 2 occasions and one was a real estate closing that she gracefully and unselfishly acted as my lawyer at closing because she is a wonderful Lawyer and human being.
