Hello Yvette and Stephanie,<br><br>I want to address your concerns, and will try to do so while respecting your father’s privacy. <br><br>Since we are talking about your fathers case, I don't know how much of the specifics you know. As we worked on your father’s case, something in his immigration past came up that I believe would most likely require a special waiver. He was made aware of that . Unfortunately that waiver is only available through marriage to a US citizen and furthermore you need to show hardship to the U.S. citizen spouse. At that time, your father told me he had a serious long-term relationship with a US citizen. I took time to explain the situation thoroughly and inquire with your father and that is why I explained marriage to a US citizen as a possible option to obtain a waiver and advised postponing all upcoming appointments he had with Immigration until he could apply for the waiver. I offered to help him complete the waiver, but since it was an additional procedure to what we had agreed to before, I told him I would have to charge additional fees. We never charged him as much as you said and we put in sustainable work on his case including submitting the first round of documents. Furthermore, as far as the appointment, the issue was that your father wanted to go ahead with an appointment and say certain things that I was not on board with. Therefore, I did not feel comfortable participating in the immigration interview as I often do with clients.<br><br>I was also surprised to hear that he felt I was impolite as I make it a point to be polite and friendly with my clients. Your father never complained about my treatment of him.<br><br> If another lawyer was really able to get your father his green card so quickly, I am glad, but you should understand that was based on all the filings we made in his case. Although I am concerned that if they did not file a waiver, that he could have problems in the future.
