Tom was appointed to me. Gave me advice, walked me through the basic system, let me know what to expect from the judge, read the room expertly, and walked me through what was required of me. Answered a lot of my "what if" questions. I can't find anything to complain about, Tom explained things clearly for my first time in a court case.

He was my bankruptcy attn. Fed Court granted my Chapter 7 bankruptcy however the Bank I had borrowed money from notified me that I still owed them the original amount + late fees 6 months later and the Bank changed it to a home loan vs original personal loan. I had already made some payments to the bank before the Bankruptcy but they automatically dismissed that. They added late fees on to the home loan from the personal loan account however. So this loan I filed in Fed. Court was null and void in the Bankruptcy but the law gives a Bank the right to acquire their money regardless if the loan is a secured loan which It was. I find all this out after the fact. Mr Foote never inquired with me to look into it and he he didn't either before going to Court. I trusted him as a lawyer to take care of everything. Mr Foote should have inquired with my Bank and find out exactly what kind of loan I had and its attachments. I called him after the Bank notified me of my debt. I told him that I should have had that loan filed in a Chapter 13-14 not a Chapter 7. He made the excuse that the Bank would not let him know what kind of loan it was. I said he could have filed a legal request to open that file agreement I made with the Bank for his access. He didn't do it. He hung up after he claimed he couldn't do anything for me. So I continue to pay on an 8 year home loan after my home was already paid off years ago. I had 2 choices - pay the loan or have my home foreclosed.

Response from owner

Teresa: This review is for Attorney John Foote, who is not located at this office, the Law Office of Thomas A. Rauf. He office shared at this building location prior to 2015, but I never worked with him. I have requested Google to remove this add from my reviews to avoid the confusion. I am sorry to hear about your bad experience. If you have a legal question in the future, I would be honored to work with you to ensure your legal needs are addressed appropriately and thoroughly. -Tom Rauf

Mr. Foote went out of his way to get a lien on real estate released that should have been released by the creditor when he filed our bankruptcy. It had been 4 years since the bankruptcy and he still promptly took care of it at no charge!
