If zero stars were an option, that’s exactly what this law firm would get. My experience with Blake Maislin / The Heavy Hitter was beyond disappointing. What you see on TV is not what you get in reality. This case was from 2023, and the experience was terrible from start to finish. Once I started asking real questions about my case, they suddenly decided to drop me as a client. Before that, there was little to no communication, almost no effort to help with my medical bills, and absolutely no sense that anyone there actually cared about my situation. It felt like my case was just another number in a pile. The most unbelievable moment came when I questioned why the lawyer was only asking for a certain settlement amount and suggested asking for more. His response to me was: “You don’t tell a deck builder how to do their job.” That statement alone says everything about the attitude and level of respect clients receive there. Meanwhile, they still walked away with 33% of the money while doing virtually nothing to help me move my case forward. Phone calls weren’t returned, updates were nonexistent, and any sense of advocacy was completely missing. The entire experience felt like a marketing machine built on flashy commercials rather than actual legal work. “Heavy Hitter” might sound impressive on TV, but in my experience there was no fight, no support, and no accountability. I dealt with Thomas Dhal, who in my opinion was dishonest and completely unprofessional throughout this process. I repeatedly asked to speak directly with Blake Maislin himself, but that never happened. Instead, I was given the runaround. To make matters even more ridiculous, they made me drive over an hour just to pick up my case booklet when it easily could have been mailed. That level of inconvenience and lack of basic professionalism says a lot about how they treat people once you’re no longer useful to them. If you’re looking for attorneys who will actually advocate for you, communicate with you, and treat you with respect, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would avoid this firm entirely. Update: To clarify, my experience was different from what is being stated here. I was never able to speak directly with Blake Maislin about my case. My communications were handled through staff. Simply untrue. Thomas Dahl left my case and told me to come pick up my file after I questioned the settlement amount he wanted to accept. At no point was going to trial ever offered as an option. We disagreed on what the case was worth, and instead of advocating for me, he chose to walk away. This case was from 2023, but the experience I described is accurate from my perspective. Nice try. Better luck next time.

There are so many law firms in Cincinnati. I highly suggest you use any one of them before Blake Maislin. They are incompetent, unethical and uncaring. They may give you the attention you deserve if you have a slam dunk settlement of $250,000 and up. My fiance was assaulted a couple years ago by an employee of a fast food restaurant after going inside to retrieve something that was left out of our drive thru order. The employee was 19 and my fiance 63. The kid knocked my fiance flat out on the concrete. My fiance had a head laceration, multiple abrasions, chest contusion and broken rib. We called Blake Maislin to see if we had a case. They said they would send someone from their office to our house to determine if we had a case. The gentleman that they sent told us we absolutely had a case because it was the restaurants employee and it happened on their property. They took our case. We had almost no communication from them. When we would call to check, they were always nasty and just told us these things take time. After 1.5 years we got a letter saying that in order to give our case the attention it deserved it was being transferred to another lawyer. Basically in 1.5 years it didn't get any attention. 2 years into it my fiance had to go to the office for a deposition. At the deposition, after 2 years the new lawyer told us to take whatever they offered because we didn't have a case. Wait, what? Their office sent out their representative at the beginning who told us we absolutely had a case and they were taking our case. I asked the lawyer about that and he said he couldn't answer why that happened. Really? If they would have told us we didn't have a case from the beginning, we could have made the decision to get an opinion from another firm. We were never given that choice because they took our case and 2 years later said we didn't have a case. My fiance had between $15 and 20 thousand dollars in medical bills and missed 2 months of work. The settlement may pay for 1 xray. When we asked the lawyer what we were supposed to do about the medical bills, he said we could file bankruptcy. Wow! So we ruin our credit because my fiance was assaulted and your firm is totally uncaring and incompetent. They never talked to anyone who witnessed the assault, they didn't check camera footage. They did absolutely zero in 2 years. Just don't take the chance with them. Unless you have a multi million dollar case they won't give your case a bit of attention. Wow after your accusations about my fiance there i guess we'll add liars to the list. My fiance never admitted to such a thing. Good story though. Desperation makes you look even worse. I don't know what jury you're talking about either. You have alot of bad reviews that all sound sadly alike. People just probably shouldn't take chances with their livelihoods. Too many lawyers doing right by their clients to take a chance with your firm. Have a great day!

After my car accident I had no clue what I was going to do or where to turn. I contacted Blake Maislin's office and was introduced to Rich. He walked me through every step kept in contact with me. I suffer alot of memory issues so if I didn't understand something he explained it in a way I understood. Everyone in both the Florence office and the Cincinnati office was always so kind (even when I got lost and ended up at the wrong office). I would HIGHLY recommend Blake Maislin's law office.

DO NOT EVER, and I do mean NEVER IN LIFE USE BLAKE MAISLIN. Cannot recommend. Please read the lowest rated reviews, they are the truth. Sitting here reading these and wish I could comment on them because so many similarities to my experience. Had my case for nearly two years. They switched lawyers on me without even telling me. The person I dealt with the most was the paralegal, which was like hardly ever. I never went to their office or spoke to anybody in person except for the first initial visit, which a lawyer came to my place and did the initial evaluation but he wasn’t going to be assigned to my case, he just lived close to me so they sent him. After that I never spoke to anybody in person again, it was either by phone or text. Let me start by saying I hardly ever heard from them. Months would pass before I would hear from them. In the beginning there were things needed for the case like obtaining camera footage. They did NOTHING to help with that. It was ALL ME trying every day to obtain the camera footage. They did not lift a finger. Like I said I hardly ever heard from them. They told me nothing would happen until I stopped seeing doctors. Which I’m finding out now that is not true and they should have taken action long ago. They had my case for almost 2 years, and less than 2 months away from the statute of limitations expiration date they decided to drop my case out of the blue!!! No reason given. I was notified by mail that they were dropping the case. Then had to play phone tag to get someone on the phone to tell me why, who stated they think I am wanting more than my case is worth. Which is mighty funny since I never gave them a number of how much I wanted! They never asked me neither. So not sure how they came up with a number in their head of how much I wanted….. regardless they left me very little time since this happened less than 2 months away from the statute of limitations. So now I’m left scrambling trying to find another lawyer and I don’t have time. Lawyers that I’m talking to trying to obtain new counsel are telling me it’s not enough time. I did find one who is willing to “TRY” but also thinks that we may not have enough time. Blakes office seems to see nothing wrong with this and told me I have “plenty of time”. All these other lawyers I have been talking to beg to differ and STRONGLY DISAGREE. Plus I’m finding out thru my new lawyer who reviewed my case file from blakes office, there’s things that were asked for back in September like my medical records dating back to a certain date, and I was not told about this, nor did they obtain those records. So now I’m left in a bind scrambling to try to get all these medical records and statute of limitations is now less than a month away. I’m hoping my new lawyer can work some magic. Wish me luck, I’m going to need it. All I can say is I wish I knew better before going with this firm. Please DO NOT EVER IN LIFE USE THIS FIRM. I wish I knew then what I know now.
