Byron helped me navigate a complex workers comp short term disability case. He originally was helping direct me to a disability lawyer but ended up answering all my questions I had about the situation. Byron Smith was extremely professional and did not sugar coat the circumstances of my case as I was dealing with a rather rare skin condition that puzzled multiple doctors. Byron Smith was always extremely quick to respond when I had questions or concerns and took the time to explain things in a way I could easily understand. When the insurance company denied my medication Byron Smith promptly fixed the issue and my medication was resumed. I felt valued and cared for as a client of Smith & Baltaxe. Byron Smith also negotiated a settlement that was very pleasing. Exceedingly knowledgeable and professional is how I would describe Byron, he'll help you deal with the games the insurance company plays. Without Byron Smith I would very likely still be suffering the painful symptoms but with his help I have recovered and am doing better than ever. I had a consultation with Byron Smith about some of the aspects of my ongoing workers' compensation claim. He gave me a lot of helpful information and insight which I hadn't been able to get elsewhere. I even later had a consultation with another attorney, and Mr. Smith's consultation was far more helpful. When I mentioned the possibility of formal representation for my claim, Mr. Smith had the integrity to tell me that I likely didn't need representation and that I could get the same result on my own (in effect meaning I wouldn't have to give 15% of any payments to an attorney representing me). With how my claim developed, Mr. Smith's insight proved to be right on the mark. If he gives such great information in a consultation, I can only imagine his formal representation must be as good, if not better.

I feel like one of those people in the infomercials, but…when I got injured at work and realized I was going to need a lawyer, I did some research and discovered Smith & Baltaxe. He was friendly, patient, knowledgeable and straightforward. Too bad my case is out of five years mark, they can not give me legal help, but they gave me advice how can precede myself. Listen, I only post reviews when I've had a significantly positive, or if applicable, negative consumer experience. From Day 1: I met and quickly gained confidence from my interactions with the firm in general, but more importantly, with my attorney in specific. (B. Baltaxe). My attorney was so impressive to me because he dmonstrated such a command (expert knowledge and legal insightfulness)of the laws governing employees as related to work related injuries. In addition, I found the firm AND my attorney to be VERY receptive to my needs/concerns, and patiently explained any legal.jargon/concepts to me in a professional and meaningful manner. This was so important to me as this entire work injury process was extremely unfamiliar to me.
