I was in El Paso County Jail without bail for a federal "misdemeanor" that I absolutely did not commit. I was living in Juarez and upon returning to the US on the morning of October 31, 2022... I was falsely accused of assaulting a Customs and Border Patrol officer. It was either me taking it trial or go to federal prison for a at least 9 months (if I were to accept a plea bargain) Mr. Rasmussen was appointed to me and I am grateful to God for it. My opinion is that he basically won the trial during jury selection. The trial lasted two days and I was found NOT GUILTY after 10 (ten) CBP officers got on stand and testified against me. They all were lying and Damian proved it. He is passionate about his craft and I would recommend him to my closest family and associates. I've seen him in action 💯👍🏽😇

Damian Rasmussen told me off for leaving one message and text on a Sunday (father’s day) before his client went to trial that following Tuesday. He told me that I am the “straw that broke the camel's back” for disturbing his weekend and for being “unprofessional”. As I tried to apologize, he told me that he didn't want my apology, and that he never wants texts or messages outside of work hours. He did NOTHING to help his client who was sentenced to 49 months in prison for “a felon in possession of a firearm”. His client was not in possession of a firearm. His client removed his wife's guns from the home and locked them in his car because she was threatening suicide. As he went back inside the home, his wife shot herself in the head and died. Now his client is in federal prison suffering trauma from the death of his wife and separation from his children. Damian Rasmussen did not fight for his client's freedom and treated me like I caused him harm for attempting to send an advocacy letter for his client.
