Highly recommend Eric Symonds — especially in family law. Been with him for 2 years for my Child Custody case that evolved into a DVRO case against me to keep alienated from daughter. Debra, his paralegal, is also extremely prompt on whatever is needed to be booked or filed. Eric has always been extremely up front with me on what I needed hear, and do. I now walk out with more court ordered weekly visits, and overnights with my daughter after every hearing. I owe the world to Eric for his efforts keeping my daughter in my life.

Eric was amazing in helping me get divorced. I was separated for two years and it was not going anywhere. As soon Eric was involved I was divorced within a year. If I could give Eric more stars I would. I've worked for law firms for over 35 years and it was difficult for me to be a client in a delicate family law matter. It was clear from my first interaction with him, that I was in very capable hands. He calmed my nerves and I felt heard. Eric was compassionate, communicated with me clearly and concisely, and went above and beyond for me. He is whip smart, direct and has a great sense of humor. Going into court with him, I had no fear. His office manager Barbara is likewise, kind and compassionate. I can't say enough about this wonderful team - they really care about their clients. Eric was reachable by phone with any questions I had, unlike many attorneys. He even served court orders himself, rather than hire a process server. I had a consultation with Mr. Symonds today. He took his time with me, he was very thorough and knowledgeable. Coming from the legal field myself I felt confident with his experiences and ability to explain possible outcomes for me. Every situation is different and there is an attorney for every situation and personality; however I wouldn’t choose prior to meeting with Mr. Symonds first.

Eric Symonds and Barbara Symonds are a phenomenal team. I appreciate there sincerity and Mr. Symonds professional way of handling situations and his patience with my case. He has knowledge of the law and how things should be handled. I also appreciate how upfront and honest he has been with me about each process in my situation. I am so relieved to have found Mr. Symonds to handle my case with my child.

Please read the reviews about Mr. Symonds before hiring him to represent you. He will divert most questions you ask him with rambling and unnecessary metaphors to come across as he is very “experienced” but ultimately lacks knowledge that can be detrimental to representing you. The statements that he makes during consultations will ultimately be forgotten (2 separate consultations from 2 cases). When bringing up concerns about not being represented as previously stated; snarky comments and insulting comments are made to the point where I got up from his office and demanded him to be removed as my counsel immediately. A perfect example of this are his responses to bad reviews. Not apologizing for mistakes but instead “I’m sorry you feel this way”, “things are being twisted and are not true.” I was represented by Eric for approximately a year and a half. Initially he stated that it wouldn’t be more than 3 months and a couple court dates till I would be able to get visitation with my daughter, which at that point I would no longer need representation and would be given the remaining amount of the retainer. Well 5k later, 1.5 years and 7 court dates (maybe more) we had gotten no where with only having 45m conjoined therapy and monitored visits 2 times a month (which during the consultation he claimed would never happen and wouldn’t be necessary). Mind you I work for a school district and have two step children I care for frequently. The supervisor for monitored visits stated that she has never seen this happen in 20 years and was dumbfounded if the situation and didn’t understand how it went this way. When I told Eric this he got super angry and defensive and started bashing her for giving her opinion, stating she is not a lawyer and can’t give legal advise (not legal advice lol!). I should have hired her as a lawyer as she has a better understanding of family law than Eric claims. Finally, I would stray away from this man, his temper, lack of knowledge, forgetfulness, no communication, no transparency, will roll over and will not fight for you, drain your retainer, very unorganized and careless, will not follow through with what he says, the list can go on just read his reviews. Hopefully, with all the other clients he’s had that were treated poorly, others can save some money and time by seeking out other representation.
