If anyone wishes to maximize their chances on post conviction relief or appeal I highly recommend appeal specialist Jason T. Forman. I say this from experience. My name is Rene Desantus (Rene De Santus in the courts). I had life without parole, sentenced to die in prison. People thought I would never get out of prison and honestly even I thought the same about myself…..but not Jason. I remember Jason setting up conference calls when I was in prison and visiting me when I was incarcerated in the Broward County Main Jail. I remember him telling me, “We got this” when I was down and out . I remember him explaining strategy and breaking down the pros and cons of why we should do this but shouldn’t do that. I remember him being patient in helping me understand the situations and ideas. Jason’s vision and perspective of law and its application was so comprehensive that he made me realize that there is an art to freedom and he is without doubt an artist. He is truly a specialist, there is nothing average about his style as an attorney and he does not lay down. He uses every resource from case laws to street corners. He creates ways to win and he goes out on the limb. This is the only attorney that I would ever put my face on and he is worth every penny. I was blessed to have his office bring light to the darkest times of my life. I got my life and freedom back after 21 years of fighting and losing because God brought Jason in my life. Special thanks to his secretary Maria who my family and myself believes is an angel in disguise. Remember, if you really want to maximize get Jason T. Forman. I’m living proof!

I came to Jason and Maria desperate, My son needed help. Jason was my first choice, My son really liked Jason but my son decided to go with another attorney that seemed very aggressive but that was a mistake. To get a hold of him was always a struggle when I called he never answer my phone call, he fail to call my son several time. And when he finally contacted me back, he said that I needed to stop calling that he was only to report to my son. Ironic that he said that, see he was quick to take my money and talk to me before I pay him. It goes without saying that thanks to Maria I moved quick and my son’s appeal got submitted THE LAST day allowed by court to submit. We almost lost the opportunity to appeal. Maria answered the phone many times and guide me, consoled me - She is my angel ✨I hired Jason and Maria. Now they’re fighting for my son and I fear no more. I know they are the A Team. All I have to say is, if you are looking for an attorney to fight for your loved one, is a process that requires patience. Don’t trust the one that will tell you what you want to hear. That’s the one that will run with your money. TRUST the one that is honest since day one. The one that will listen, ask questions and give all the scenarios, that explained the process how things work. This is very important for the family as well. Hire the one that will be compassionate and answer the phone even when there is no updates because believe me, behind doors they are working hard and it will surprise you. Jason and Maria, I want to thank you for your dedication. I know I mentioned this to both of you, but I want this to be noticed you are this is your calling not only this is the job that’s passionate to you, but is the job that God called you to do. God bless you.

I was so excited about finding someone like Jason Forman to fight for my freedom from a coerced plea involving mis-conduct and malicious prosecution. Jason is one of the rare finds as attorney that deals with post conviction actions. Most attorneys just blow off any attempt at challenging the unfair justice system, that appears to be the standard in this country today. Unfortunately, my situation doesn't warrant his help without new evidence. So we are continuing to fight for new evidence that will justify Jason's ability to represent me. I am 100% confident in his ability if I can qualify for his engagement in the near future. His track record and focus creates hope for those of us that have been taken advantage of by a broken legal system. I hope and pray that others in my similar situation find Jason and succeed in their efforts.

Because of Jason, I am sitting at home typing this review. This, as opposed to sitting in Franklin CI for another five years. This may be long, so the basics: if you want a lawyer who you know will do everything to get you out while treating you with compassion and as an actual person, then hire Jason. He’s the best post-conviction lawyer in Florida, bar none. One of the things that stood out most was that he called me at prison multiple times and talked for about an hour each time. This was all before we paid him anything or even agreed to hire him. In my experience, too many lawyers talk a good game until they get their money, then it’s all crap and you’re just another case in their pile. When Jason and I talked it was about my case, about strategies and how we could fight to get me out. Jason actually cares. He’s also no nonsense. Jason isn’t the type to blow smoke; he will take the facts of your case and do everything he can to get you relief. Once we hired him, he began writing my 3.850 and consulted with me every step of the way. Jason drove to the jail (3 hours away) and sat with me for 2 hours the night before my evidentiary hearing. He went over every question he was going to ask me. He listened to my input and my answers and altered his tactics accordingly. Like I said, Jason actually cares about his clients and what they have to say. He treated me as a person every step of the way, both before and after we paid him. The actual hearing was incredible. I was terrified, of course, but Jason was professional, caring, and compassionate the entire time, making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. He asked me the questions as we had discussed, then he tore into the state and their witness (my old PD, since this was an ineffective counsel case). His questions were direct and challenging. He was the epitome of what a lawyer should be in the court room. Now, as anyone who is familiar with the justice system knows, every case is different. I had the right judge who showed compassion and urged the state and Jason to work out a deal that was more fair than the sentence I received, and I had a prosecutor who offered me a deal that amounted to time served. However, the judge only showed me compassion because of the points Jason hammered home, and the state offered me that plea deal because Jason prepared me and made me look like a sympathetic, nice guy who was sorry for his actions (I was, but I needed the prosecutor to see that) As an aside, there were details and grounds I made Jason add into my motion and the into the hearing I later regretted having him add because it definitely could have hurt me. Luckily it worked out, but Jason knows his stuff more than I could have known at the time. Listen to his suggestions, even if you may disagree with them. Always tell him what you think because he’ll listen and consider everything you say, but in the end, listen to his guidance. He knows his stuff. Trust me. So yes, every case is different. I’m free now because my 3.850 journey included a bit of luck. However, all the luck in the world will do nothing without a good lawyer, and Jason isn’t just good, he is great. He won’t win every case, and he may not win yours. But if you hire Jason, you can be assured that he will do EVERYTHING possible to earn your freedom. He will come up with the best arguments using the best evidence. He will prepare you as best as he can and actively listen to everything you have to say. He will fight for you like no other lawyer. He has a reputation for this in FDOC (I met several inmates who know of him and one who hired him and is also free now because of Jason). His reputation is not misplaced. Most importantly, though, Jason will treat you like a person. He will fight for you like you deserve to be fought for. I would recommend no one else. I owe my freedom to Jason. If you want a chance at winning your post-conviction case, hire Jason. It’s the best decision you’ll make.

My family and I had the privilege of working with Jason during the lowest point of our lives. After our initial call, but before officially signing with him, Jason was an incredible wealth of knowledge and helped me prepare questions for the previous attorneys who we were moving away from. Jason gave me 6 hours of his time (for free) before officially moving forward with him. For that, I can't thank him enough. He was a resource and support during a very dark time for me, in an industry I had no previous knowledge or experience in. From the very first interaction he was amazingly compassionate and attentive. He did not make assumptions, but read the information we shared, did the research, and took the time to understand our situation. He walked us through every step of the legal process and never once complained about our very detailed questions. If you’ve ever had to worry about a family member, you know you'll stop at nothing to ensure they are protected. There was no clocking out for Jason. He answered emails, phone calls, and texts at all hours to ensure we were comfortable. I can’t recommend Jason enough to anyone in need of an honest, skilled, and caring attorney. I can breathe easier as a result of Jason’s efforts. To put it into perspective our loved one's sentence went from 10 years to now 3 years. A 70% reduction in sentence in less than three months! My family and I can now start our countdown, knowing our family will be whole soon. Jason is the real deal. While I hope to NEVER need his services again, he will be my first call if something crazy happens to me or a loved one.

I am extremely satisfied with the services of Jason Forman. I had a 25 year sentence for trafficking heroin with a release date in 2042. Thanks to Jason I am home free with my family today. After you’ve been convicted, you’ll need a lawyer who is great at preparing appellate briefs and that can orally advocate on your behalf. In my experience, Jason is one the best.

Letter from Carlos P. : "I'm writing this letter of appreciation to show my gratitude for saving my life when I thought that all was lost, Mr. Forman you gave me hope at life and another chance to be once again next to my family and be the man I know I am! When I hired you I had a 2042 release date and now thanks to you I'm coming home by next year 2023 you gave me back 18 years of my life time that I thought I would never get back. This letter is simply not enough to express my gratitude, but hey! I at least owe you this, you are truly an amazing lawyer who actually got the job done and gave me your 100% like you promised you would. Not only do I thank you but my family thank you as well. Because, if it wasn't for you my life would have been over. You gave me a chance at freedom, you made a miracle happen! and once again thank you for a job well done. You are blessing!!

In life no one will ever understand what someone is actually going through unless they go through it themselves, but here we were facing a giant and looking for someone somewhere that could truly understand and help. As I searched and searched for our third lawyer, yes third, I could not help but to think where I am going to find someone of this nature. My brother was accused of sexual battery and was given a 30 year sentence, my family was devastated. We needed a lawyer that was going to do something to give us some relief, and finally our prayers were answered with Jason Forman. My brother’s case was finally reversed and remanded and Jason is still working hard to resolve this matter. If you need an extraordinary lawyer Jason Forman is your guy, since day one Jason has been nothing but amazing, listening to our cares and concerns, updating us with any new news and diligently working hard on our case, you could say he is more or less like family.

I was facing a lot of time; with an uphill climb to make my case. Jason listened, he had the expertise, the knowledge and experience to win the day. He acted expeditiously to get everything submitted promptly applying the facts with his knowledge of the law and the legal system to effectively present my case. The result: an 18 year sentence vacated ! I recommend Jason for his personal manner and his professionalism and knowledge of the law and the legal system.

I highly recommend to you the person and services of Jason Forman. He was most diligent in aggressively pursuing the desired result in our case. A sentence of more than 18 years was vacated, what looked like an impossible situation, became a realized dream due to his professional, persistent actions on our behalf. Jason is personable, knowledgeable and efficient in using his connections and resources. We had a ready line of communication, always felt like we were heard and that he understood and acted on our concerns. Jason's knowledge of the law and "the system" together with his excellent communication and "people skills" made him to be our best choice as the advocate for our loved one.

Jason Forman is a wonderful Appeals Lawyer. He was able to get a biased judge removed from my son's case and also multiple life sentences vacated due to ineffective assistance of counsel. Jason did an amazing job and always stayed InTouch with us through the whole process. He answered any questions we had and took time to just call and check on us. If you need a good lawyer Jason is one of the best.

After my son was unjustly sentenced, Jason was recommended to me by another attorney who was familiar with my son's case to handle his appeal and I have to say it was the best phone call I ever made! He immediately calmed me down, explained how the process worked and kept in touch with me through every step. I have been a legal assistant for 26 years and a judicial secretary for 3 and I must say he is one of the best attorneys I have ever had the honor and privilege of working with! Five stars is not enough!

If it wasn't for Jason Forman, I wouldn't be free today. I was unjustly sentenced to 15 years in FSP when all of my co-defendants (7 people) were sentenced to probation. His hard work, knowledge and due diligence won my appeal. I'm forever grateful that we were able to hire him.
