Do not use this office. It will drain your account and do nothing for you. You’ll literally walk away a year later without one hearing any change in your case the withdrawal as soon as they drain their funds or they’ll try to change your lawyer and start over and do the same thing again in January twice run away.
Stay away from them let’s run away as far as you can. They’re not a law firm. They’re a fraud firm they’ll take all your money. Do nothing drain your accounts. A total fraud then the withdrawal from you and try to drop your case after draining your bank account and doing nothing do not go with this law firm they’ll promise you the world and do nothing. This is the most disgraceful law firm out there. They drained almost $10,000 and I haven’t even done anything having on the court. Haven’t even gotten any visiting rates for my kids. It’s been over a year stay away.
Going through a divorce and one of my good friends suggested Attorney Thorne, and she is amazing. I’m in the beginning phase of this process and she and her staff have been nothing short of incredible
I have been in the court system for a custody battle since January of this year. I originally hired a different attorney who I felt did not have my son’s best interest. I made the decision to fire my attorney and hire Jennifer Thorn after meeting with another attorney who heard my high conflict case and highly recommended her. I can’t express enough how grateful I am to have Jenn as my representative. I came in strong in the beginning because I was super overwhelmed and Jenn gave me the tough love I needed even in the moment when I thought it was rude, she really had my son’s best interest. If you are looking for an attorney who will listen to you within reason and help lift some stress I would highly recommend her. The only regret I have is I did not hire her from the beginning of my case. I truly can’t thank her enough with just the little amount of time she has been my representative and the weight she has lifted off my shoulder so I can focus on being a mom to my 1 year old and NP school. Thank you, thank you, thank you Jenn!!!
I have hired Attorney Jennifer Thorn in the past and she didn’t really do much for me plus someone else signed my name on a document for Atty Thorn to withdraw from my case. And the court allowed it without me being present and discussing it with the attorney.
I worked with Attorney Ann Dargie for over two years. While I understand that family court is an incredibly complex and emotional area with many moving parts, I ultimately found that her representation was not as helpful as I had hoped. After parting ways, it became apparent to me that certain aspects of my case were not handled in a way that supported my goals, and custody outcomes moved in a direction I hadn’t anticipated. Communication was a particular challenge. There were times I felt left in the dark, and unfortunately, a missed court date had a significant emotional impact on my child’s sense of safety and well-being. These were critical moments that shaped my decision to seek new representation. This review is not to diminish Attorney Dargie's skills but to share my experience in hopes of helping others make a more informed decision when seeking legal support in family matters. It’s important to find an attorney who communicates clearly, keeps you well-informed, and aligns closely with your priorities, especially in sensitive cases like these.
I had the privilege of working with Ann Dargie, and I can confidently say she is exceptional. Ann is confident, firm, fearless, and truly dedicated to defending her clients. She always had my child’s and my best interests at heart, and her strategic approach and thorough preparation gave me peace of mind throughout the process. I felt fully supported, validated, and reassured that she truly had my back. Her professionalism, expertise, and ability to handle challenges with confidence are unmatched. I’ve noticed some reviews here mentioning costs, and I want to share my perspective. I’m someone with modest financial resources, and even so, I understood from the start that every aspect of a lawyer’s work—research, preparation, communication—takes time and effort, and those services come at a cost. That’s entirely reasonable, given the level of dedication and knowledge she brings to her clients. Ann’s work is worth every penny. Ann was always professional and attentive when I reached out with thoughtful concerns. Her responses were clear, timely, and focused on moving the case forward. Communication was purposeful and productive, which made me feel heard and confident in the process. While Ann was my lawyer, I also had an emergency question when she wasn’t available. Jennifer A. Thorn kindly stepped in to assist me over the phone and was attentive, helpful, and professional. I have nothing but positive things to say about this law firm. If you want someone who will take your case seriously, fight for your best interests, and provide top-notch representation, I wouldn’t think twice about hiring them again.
Jenn is an incredibly knowledgeable, confident, and supportive force. She is an invaluable asset to have by your side.
I have dealt with attorney Thorn representing my ex-wife on 3 occasions since 2011. She has a nasty, rude, and completely unprofessional demeanor, with no interest in actually resolving the issue. This last round of litigation took 39 months (8 month track!) and after a trial, she requested the Judge review his decision again when it didn't go her way. Then, when that review didn't go her way, she asked for a SECOND review. That review was DENIED. My ex paid over $25k for this action, and received a $10k award. Make it make sense! At some point, a credible attorney would ask their client "what is your end game here?", and advise them accordingly. Not Jennifer Thorn. She had a client on the hook who would just keep putting coin in the juke box, even though the music had clearly stopped playing. The most amusing part of all is this...l offered $15k to settle before the trial. I thoroughly enjoyed being a "thorn" in Jennifer's side. If you want an attorney who will keep fighting... and especially billing, even when she's losing, Jennifer Thorn is the one for you!
I made a mistake by not doing research, this firm is costly, don’t make a mistake of hiring this firm, they just want your money..
Terrible experience! Expensive, Rude and she dropped me as soon I ran out of money instead of working with me some lawyers do pro bono. She just didn’t care and it’s sad I wasted my money and time.
She is a calculating , lying and manipulative professional who has zero respect for the law . She is a poor excuse of a human .
Four stars are due to limited interaction, but helpful. What some may call rude, others may find refreshing level of candor and directness. My brief consultation with Attorney Thorn led me to believe that she is very sharp, knows how to narrow in on what matters, but she will not sugar coat it for you. What I've been told about her from other attorneys is that if you are facing a ruthless and maniacal other party's counsel, and find yourself out gunned, JAT is the person to hire. And I wish I had.
When I was going through my divorce, I was in a vulnerable place. I had a lot of trouble with communication and confidence due to what I was going through. Jennifer’s only concern is money. She doesn’t care about her clients and she was unprofessional and rude. I hope that by writing this I save someone else for entrusting this woman to take care of your best interest during a difficult time. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Expensive; out for the money and I still am suffering financially due to the divorce.
Save your money and go somewhere else. Absolute ripoff and O commitment to your case.
She is pure greed!!!
after spending lots of money---over 28 months---long court trial---I believe this could have been settled with less heart ache--with meditation/arbitration. I was not advised with the correct info----and yes the divorce is final but there are 2 outstanding problems from the other side that has not been settled and JAT's office has not been willing to assist me and I have to find another attorney to help me get my money back from the other side. I am left hanging without assistance for about a year now. When one spends in the 6 digits--you would think JAT would be willing to call you or at least email you to assist you. VERY DISAPPOINTED--------There are plenty of good divorce/family attorneys in the area.
If there was another word that was more negative then "disappointing" to describe my experience...I would use it. I terminated her as my attorney, represented myself, and got an agreement done in less than 40 days. She spoke to me 30 min before my first hearing and never once asked me what I wanted or what results I was interested in.
