I have worked with many attorney's in the past and have viewed them to be my ally and savior. Sure, attorneys have a reputation for being crooks and cold-hearted people (no different than the criminals they defend.) However, I have never ever experienced it until I obtained Robert Leonard as an attorney. Robert Leonard in my opinion is a charlatan, heartless and has no empathy. His treatment has been very cruel and unprofessional. I have told him I had 4 strokes and have lost some of my fine motor skills. He stated he "sympathizes" but he is actually very unsympathetic to my conditions actually. He had asked me to specify if I owned a car and etc on a form and I had emailed him back with the form with that section empty because I do not have a vehicle at the moment. I even emailed him and told him I don't have a car but he didn't even read my email. But he sure did charge me because I did email him. I informed him in a email: "These threats of "resigning" that you have made several times without doing anything for me is unacceptable. I have answered all your questions on that form several times but it appears that you don't read my emails. When you sent the form highlighted red with "don’t you have a car?" I responded to the email with NO I DO NOT HAVE A CAR." But apparently that was not sufficient - I have answered all the questions on that documentation he sent. He has taken my money, 10K to be exact and did NOTHING for me. My own “attorney” made me feel like I am the criminal instead of settling my case. I will also take this to various entities and inform them of his highly unprofessional treatment. You sir give esquires a bad reputation. Prior to accepting my case, I gave you all the information during our expensive consultation. You ASSURED me that obtaining you as my attorney I have nothing to worry about. But the only person rattling me to my core is Robert Leonard. This is a “simple tax situation” not a MURDER. If it were, I would hate for you to be my criminal attorney, if I ever needed one. The positive reviews you see, are probably his family and friends. BE CAUTIOUS.

We had tax issues with the IRS since 1999. Since then we spent a lot of time, effort and money with several different lawyers and law firms to try to resolve our issues, but we were never able to get any resolutions. We were getting desperate and we were at wits end when someone we knew referred us to Robert. We met with him and he explained to us what he could do for us and we felt very comfortable with working with him. First of all, he stopped the IRS from threatening us with liens, garnishment, etc. the first month we started with him. Dealing with the IRS is not an easy or pleasant experience unless you know how the system works, Robert Leonard definitely knows what he is doing. After about two years we were nearing resolution to our tax issues, when suddenly, the IRS said they "lost the paper works" that we sent in. This is when Robert used all his expertise in making the IRS find the "lost paperwork". If Robert didn't resolve this problem, then we would have wasted 2 years and we would have had to start all over again. Finally back in March, we finally got the settlement that we were hoping for. We just made our last settlement payment in August and our 18 year nightmare is over. Unless you have an expert helping you, it is a very difficult task in trying to deal with the IRS. Thankfully we had Robert Leonard on our side helping us to resolve an issue that we and other lawyers could not.
