Terrible consultation that ended with the lawyer Mr. Norrid walking out of the room randomly during the visit and leaving me with a paralegal who wasn't much help

DO NOT HIRE HIM!!! I hired Tom Norrid for a Family Access Motion after filing it myself and doing the majority of the groundwork. During my 15-minute consultation, he quoted me $2,000, and I made it clear I needed representation specifically for trial. When I came back a month later to pay, I expected to sit down with him or at least schedule a real appointment. Instead, I was rushed through the process by the paralegal at the front desk, who acted irritated and dismissive. It felt completely unprofessional, but I proceeded because I believed things would improve once the attorney started working on my case. I sent multiple emails and documents explaining my situation, repeatedly asking for updates and trial prep. I received no returned calls from Mr. Norrid. I eventually had to demand an appointment, which I finally got only two days before trial. That meeting lasted maybe 10–15 minutes, but he talked confidently and assured me he would “fight like hell.” I left thinking I would at least be represented properly. That was not what happened. On the morning of trial, he informed me—as we were walking into the courtroom—that he had already made a deal with the opposing attorney without my consent, knowledge, or approval. The “deal” was completely against what I hired him to do and what I had stated I wanted. When I expressed that I did not agree, he told me that if I didn’t accept it, I should “be prepared to never see my child again.” This was a Family Access Motion to enforce an existing parenting plan—not a modification!! All I wanted was for the current order to be followed. Once we were in court, it became even clearer that he had done no preparation at all. He brought no evidence, no proof, nothing from the documents I had provided. I was put on the stand with zero support, while he failed to cross-examine or challenge anything. The other party was never even called to testify. He did not advocate for me in any meaningful way!!! Since court, I have called and emailed multiple times. Neither he nor his paralegal will return my calls. Based on my experience, I absolutely do not recommend this attorney. I felt ignored, misled, unprepared for trial, and completely unrepresented when it mattered most.

Do NOT hire these folks for any reason. We lost 6500 trying to get out of a timeshare. Not 1 action was completed. They blew us off for over 1 year, left us hanging and now potentially a foreclosure. WE WILL BE reporting to the OCDC

Do not hire this team…it has been 30+ days since I’ve asked for them to file a counter motion. They haven’t filed and continue to avoid filing. When I asked for them to withdrawal and to have my file ready they’re telling me I can’t pick my file up until they’re withdrawn and refusing to give it to me until that is done. They also haven’t sent me court orders that the judge has accepted, leaving me uninformed and unprepared. I was referred to him by Rita Sanders and have been absolutely let down. Now that I have been asking around Tom and his team are notorious for not filing motions and being unresponsive. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND RUN FAR AWAY. The team is unresponsive, uninformative and doesn’t care about your case what so ever. They send emails regarding your case with no explanation. The excuse was at first that Candy the new paralegal had just been hired and is catching up…that was 2+ months ago. The first red flag should have been that Tom accepted cash app and did not have proper paperwork for our agreement for payment. Tom has no information about my case, shows up on the day of court and asks me questions like “how’s it been going” when I’ve been emailing his team about how things have been regarding my case. I understand lawyers being busy but not knowing any information involving my case is not normal, not responding is not normal. I will be reporting them to OCDC, I encourage whoever else has had experiences with their neglect, mishandling and unprofessionalism to report them as well.

Tom is the only lawyer I use. Tom and Theresa saved my son from a horrible situation and Theresa was there every single step of the way and even answered my phone calls on the weekends. They saved my son and they saved my sanity. They fought as hard for my son as I did and we WON! I will continue to refer all of my friends and family to them and I will NEVER forget what they did for us.

Would give 0 if possible. Paid half down on case a year ago. After waiting months and 0 communication with law office. Leaving multiple messages asking questions and no calls returned. I request a refund. Told today I will get 0 of $2500 back on a case that never went to court. All that happened was the other party being served papers

I feel like they totally screwed me over personally I spent $1200 to have an ex-wife served. One year later, she has not been served and she lives in bolivar not very hard to find and they refused to give me my money back. I was sold on the idea that they had private investigators and they would have no problem finding anyone.

BEWARE! Do Not Use. I contracted this firm to do timeshare work for me. The attorney here at the Norrid law firm, Mike Jett, did nothing but take my money and consistently lie. Refused to communicate at all, or provide any updates. If I could give zero stars, I would. USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

My son passed away in 2013, Tom and Teresa worked diligently to help me gain guardianship of my granddaughter, they didn't overcharge me and have been there every step of the way, answering any questions I may have or with any other needs. They made me feel like family. I highly recommend!

Mr.Norrid gave me my life back. There are no words in which I could thank Mr.Norid for what he has done, when I wanted to give up he was there to continue fighting for me. If it was not for Mr. Norrid I would have lost everything. This is a debt I’ll never be able to repay. Thank you so much.

I paid for my divorce/custody in 2020. Not long after, I had a change of heart and called Teresa to stop the process. As embarrassing as it is, I did this multiple times. Each time in hopes of reconciling my marriage. In all the times I called to start the process and stop the process, Terese never made me feel small. I am so thankful for that. Now it is 2024 and I am divorced. Though it is bitter sweet, I am thankful to have had Tom Norrid’s Law Firm on my side.

Great lawyer willing to work with you on payments Teresa his paralegal was really helpful, and I was able to get a fair result out of my custody hearing
