Adam is very nice but too busy, so I paid for multiple communications asking for follow up. Dragged the divorce out for 8 months (we did not have kids). Ended up costing way more than I expected, and I still owe money. They do not do the QDRO you will have to pay someone else $1000 for that.
Michael Dombos is a Class Act. He will draft your estate plan, Make home and hospital visits 7 days a week and anything else you need.
Not very happy with the outcome. I spoke with Adam I believe, we had a consultation and he took my information and said he’d be sending me an email with the retainer fee. Never received the email, so I called every day for 2 weeks after our phone call. I would talk to Denise and she would say he was out of office until the following day, eventually my phone calls weren’t even answered; I’d be sent to her email, then it started going to Adam’s email. It’s been about 2 months since our phone call, and they have not once returned my phone calls or sent me the email I needed! When someone is looking for an attorney, it’s because they need help and feel lost!!! I’m struggling to figure out how to do things right, and they did not help. So unfortunate because this firm seems to have good reviews, but I was just kicked to the curb.
They provided initially excellent service and feedback. Our last interaction was extremely disappointing.... no return calls or emails. Would not have expected this service from such a professional firm.
No morals or integrity. When abuse is reported to you it’s is your job to report it.
I cannot thank Joseph Vander Horst (Joe) enough for his exceptional service during my divorce. From our first consultation, Joe was compassionate, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He explained the entire process clearly and set realistic expectations. Throughout the proceedings, Joe and his team were always responsive to my questions and concerns, often replying to emails within hours. What I valued most was his candid guidance and unwavering support as we navigated the divorce process together. He was not just my attorney but also a source of support and guidance. If you are going through a divorce, I highly recommend Joseph Vander Horst.
Awesome law firm! From the receptionist, to the partners, and everyone in between. Wonderful people to work with.
I have worked with Joe Vander Horst at the firm all year and he has guided me through my divorce with the utmost attention to detail and communication. He enabled me to weather a complicated and tumultuous process and in my opinion went above and beyond. He zeroes in on what truly matters and avoids the nonsense. A very friendly and professional lawyer who I cannot recommend highly enough! If I ever am unfortunate enough to do this twice, I'll go back to Joe!
I’ve used Joe Vanderhorst for a couple different family law and custody issues over the last 5 years! Joe is incredibly networked and experienced in family law in this area! He has never steered me wrong or inflated my expectations going into a legal battle. I value my family more than anything else and I would willingly place them in Joe’s hands again should I need to!
Attorney Dombos is excellent. He practically lives at his office (7 days a week) to make sure his clients are taken care of. He is a very caring attorney who treats his clients with dignity and respect. He makes time for them 7 days a week. He clearly is an asset to anyone he is involved with, and a great asset to the legal community.
If I could do 10 stars I would! I unfortunately cannot speak on other attorneys here, but if they’re anything like Jon Vander Horst I would highly recommend them! Jon on multiple occasions went above and beyond expectations for me, and I’m very grateful. He was very understanding and a great team player, he took his game plan and mine, merged them together and the outcome was amazing! I told him exactly what I wanted and he made it happen, just unbelievable! And the secretaries have been very helpful also when it comes to contacting him, nothing but very positive and effective results from this firm, STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!
We have been taking care of my Aunt Donna's thing and Micheal has been very helpful
Amazing, amazing people. Joe V was a godsend. Very personable and worked very hard for me. Toni, just as amazing!
Horrible experience with lawyers Joseph Vanderhorst and his unpleasant secretary Audra. I have been fighting an ongoing battle for years to keep joint custody of my kids. My ex wife continuously tries to inch away at my time in order to get more child support, so I decided to try a more strategic approach by involving a lawyer (Vanderhorst). In the beginning I told him I want half-joint custody like I originally had and he agreed after reviewing my case. That would be the first and last cooperation we would have together. The very first court date I was thrown off guard by him trying to get me to compromise to have less time than half (only 2 days) time with my kids and his big motivator was that my child support would drop down despite my original plan. Of course my ex seen through his fast talking and declined his attempts to end our case then and there, ie: the reason I told him I wanted half custody- my original order and we’ll probably have to fight, whole purpose of getting a lawyer.... I can go back and forth with my ex myself... instead of paying 2,500$ for someone to mediate. Oh and the 2,500$ originally started with a quote of 1500$ then after office visit he said it was a mistake. After first court date, and the entirety of his employment I seen no results but was steadily receiving new charges in the mail.... I mean ridiculous charges, 200$ for a email here and there that I had no knowledge of or received no information about... 100$ for gas up the road... 100$ for a phone call... 200$ for signing some paperwork. The total charges end up being close to 4000$ dollars, I still have seen no results, in fact I’m worst off now in debt, I fired him Due to lack of results, all talk and charging. His secretary Audra was very disrespectful as well, she acted as if she’s doing you a favor by taking his calls and at one point (which made me terminate services finally), she became a conflict of interest in my case, I felt as if she was representing my ex. Anyhow $4000 dollars later still in the same spot and paying the max in child support, while I have my kids only 2 days a week I still pay as if I never have them, and Joseph Vanderhorst couldn’t even tackle that. What a joke, more money for his pocket to drive around with in his Mercedes. I’m positive his whole agenda is to take your money and end your case quickly as possible even if it means sacrificing your rights and wants. Wish there were negative stars on the rating.
