This practice is not recommended through my experience the lawyer served at minimum best to negotiate talks between the defendant and the district attorney and represent the defendant in court. The lawyer did not properly advise or conduct his position responsibly when the defendant was being interrogated by police with the lawyer present. In my specific situation the cop joked with my lawyer that the "drinks were on him". Know your rights, educate your kids on the law, and avoid this practice.
