Ok I’m glad I’m not the only one dealing with this! I have a payment arrangement with them for $25 a month, I’ve been paying over that amount some months $100 and some months $50. I get a letter in the mail stating they’re taking me to court! I hope they enjoy meeting my lawyer! These people got my mom for a bunch of money on a debt back in the day, same thing she was paying and I guess they thought she would get income tax so around the same timeframe they sent a garnishment letter! At this point they’re in breach of contract and I will be visiting the judge tomorrow morning bright and early!
If you’re reading reviews for this company, document everything and know your rights. I ain't a lawyer, this ain't legal advice. I'm providing you some back-up and common sense with credible sources as well with my story on the matter and interaction. Between 11 AM and 2 PM I received a call and voicemail from their collection agent, Shannon (ext. 121). The call was escalated to a “supervisor,” yet somehow no one could do the one basic thing they’re legally supposed to do: verify the debt. They admitted they could not provide written validation, yet continued pushing payment options anyway. They also claimed I had previously been sent a “verification letter.” It was not. It was a generic payment notice with an amount and an original creditor name. That is not debt validation. Meanwhile the balance on my credit report was previously $2,200 and suddenly jumped to $2,800 with zero written explanation. The highlight of the call was Shannon, who is not an attorney, threatening legal action if I did not comply with their payment plan. When I stated that if I were taken to court I would have an attorney, she then documented my file as if I was currently represented, which is false. When I requested written confirmation of my federal rights and communication in writing, I was simply told “no.” For anyone unfamiliar: under the FDCPA you have the right to request written debt validation, dispute the debt, and not be threatened or misled by collectors pretending to play lawyer on the phone. A proper debt verification / validation letter should include at minimum: • Original creditor name • Current legal owner of the debt • Account or reference number • Total balance with explanation, not just a lump sum • Itemization of charges (principal, interest, fees, dates applied) • Date of last payment • Charge-off date • Notice of your right to dispute the debt Companies that have been heavily fined in Oklahoma for similar gross behavior include collections practices tied to law firms or agencies that improperly used legal threats to intimidate consumers. These cases resulted in significant penalties because consumers were misled and their rights under the FDCPA were violated. Protect yourself: • File a complaint with the CFPB • Send a certified debt validation letter with return receipt • Dispute inaccurate reporting with Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion • Contact your state Attorney General or the FTC if needed Keep copies of letters, emails, voicemails, and call logs. Paper trails matter. Empty threats and phone intimidation do not. Edit: Oh, and for the love of God, if this company DOES send you summons, show up to court. Most companies garnish your wages and screw you over because YOU DO NOT SHOW UP. The burden of proof for your debt is on them once you have requested it via certified debt validation letter with return receipt. Do not screw yourself over. Edit 2: You are in a single party state. You can legally record the call. Let them argue against themselves. Edit 3: The CFPB took action against Work & Lentz / Firm falsley represented attorney involvement and made misleading threats of lawsuits and furnished inaccurate information to reporting agencies. The firm was ordered to refund $577k to consumers and pay civil penalties. Aberdeen Enterprizes II, Inc This company was subject to convtroversy and class-action allegations in Oklahoma for debt collection and court fees practices, including aggressive tactics against indigent defendents. This isn't a CFPB/FTC enforcement order, but it's an instance where consumers and advocacy news outlets have highlighted improper collection behavior grounded in coercion. National Landmark Logistics / United Recovery Group and all the et ceteras. Just google 'em. CAMCO, which was shut down by the FTC after repeated FDCPA violations including threatening language and calling on old debts. The FTC obtained a settlement and injunction, assets were frozen, and the company banned from debt collection. The point is that for all of you merely bad reviews is the start. Do more.
Rude and insensitive staff. Trying to resolve an item before the weekend and was told “It’s 5pm. It’s time for me to go home. I’m hanging up now.” These people will take every penny in your bank account without any notice.
So far so good dealing with this company they are not bullies and very patient with helping you reach a solution that you can both agree on.
Communication is ok . Just getting started with them . Waiting on requested documents. Seem to be nice and not using bullying or strong arm tactics at this time. Will update as my case moves forward. Payment plan was easy to set up..now no request for documentation has been sent attempting to slip billing or cram there fees in without my opertunity to dispute. A report has been filed with BBB.now dec 24 i was notified that anther letter was sent with amounts they claim i owe for there legal fees plus interest. They were attempting to cram or slip bill fees not of the original amount claimed .
Got garnishment on a 21 year old debt I knew nothing about. Not my debt From an address I haven't lived at in 22 years. No notice. No paperwork Statue of limitations in my state is 3 years on credit card debt. Just a money grab by a dishonest firm. I filed a complaint with consumer protection and they are 1st firm on web site for complaint
We recently learned that we owed money and this company decided to completely empty out 3 accounts w/o notice, twice now. I tried to call to discuss and all i got both times was it's my fault and we need to take responsibility for this. Which we have and that's why I was calling. Lady was super rude, be littled me during a literal time of crisis and still did not provide all the information to me to even register for an online account to pay which she rudely told me i should know how to pay a bill. They drained our account and our sons (whom has nothing to do with balance) The lady only cares about her job and securing her bills, not that power will be disconnected and we have no food. Do not worry y'all, you can call to pay next month the agreed upon amount but our whole check to live off of for this week is just gone. Screw your family and needs. I understand completely it's our fault and our bill but where is the compassion or idk the lady shouldn't be in customer service period. I will have to make at least one more call so I can actually set up online payments since the lady is so unhelpful and extremely rude. Supposedly served papers for this balance in 2024 and garnishment hit July 2025 w/o notice. If you have debt with them, make one phone call, get FILE NUMBER, WEBSITE AND PHONE NUMBER to make payments or your just screwed.
This company had me making payments when they took money out of my partners pay even though we aren’t married. No compassion never even served me. I was told it was handled to a woman who doesn’t fit the description in my house. I’m legit the only female. They are not honest.
I missed their call. When I called back the lady was friendly and helpfully. Very easy to work with on setting up a payment plan to my debt. Gave me several option as to how to pay.
I got sued by these folks. I met one of their attorneys in court. Considerably professional and unbiased in my opinion. He even addressed my situation to the judge ON MY BEHALF because my situation was rather unique and somewhat convoluted. I still owed them money, which was fair. Being a combat veteran, I understand the importance of keeping one's commitments. Thanks for the as-positive-as-could-be-under-the-circumstances experience anyway.
This company never sent me anything in the mail. They apparently sent it to an address that I no longer lived at. So instead of notifying me directly of this debt, they took it to court and garnished my wages. Instead of working with me directly, they decided to be a little sneaky, fish and ruin a person. My paychecks went down to $300 and I’m about to lose my house. I hope these people are satisfied with ruining peoples lives. EDIT. I paid the original judgment of almost $2500. I had a zero balance for over a month and a half. I then get a letter today a month and a half later that they added more money to what is owed of $538 without my knowledge. So they’re going to continue to add money every six months. The lady was rude That I spoke to. She basically just said well it’s your fault. I don’t know how these people sleep at night. I cannot wait to sue the pants off of this company. They should’ve just ate that $538 because now they’re gonna owe me a lot more.
Lawyer can’t even reach these guys. even after leaving several messages no return calls were made
