Their "free consultation" consisted of a woman calling me, very clearly already with a determination in mind, saying they could not help me- based on the VERY minimal info given in my consult request. Excuse me for not uploading my medical history in the contact request. She was condescending, asked me no questions, and barely let me speak. I ended up getting flustered and hanging up because I came to them for help and she made me feel like I was the one on trial in the first 20 seconds of our conversation. Incredibly unprofessional, borderline hostile. Did not get ANY kind of vibe that they were out to help anyone, simply out to make a quick big buck with the least work possible. Actually listening to a complex, nuanced medical case? They just don't have the time for that.

Response from owner

We are very sorry to hear that your interaction with our office left you feeling this way. That is never our intention. Every person who contacts us is going through a difficult situation, and it is important to us that each conversation reflects the compassion and respect we strive to show all who reach out for guidance.

Due to the volume of inquiries we receive and the highly specialized nature of medical malpractice law, our initial screening calls are designed to gather certain threshold information to determine whether a matter is one that we are able to assist with. That said, you should never feel rushed, dismissed, or unheard during that process. We take feedback like yours seriously and will be addressing this internally to ensure our communications are always thoughtful and respectful.

Please know that our goal is not to make anyone feel “on trial,” but rather to understand whether we can be of meaningful help. Even when we are unable to take a case, we aim to leave people feeling supported and treated with kindness.

We are reaching out to you privately to better understand your experience, and to see if we can provide guidance or point you toward appropriate resources.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

This firm was referred by Morgan & Morgan because they could not help me. I received a call from a female attorney who was rude interrupting me. There was no guidance for the lay person she just fired questions and I told her that I wasn’t prepared for the amount of detail she needed and she said fine I’ll call back tomorrow and hung up! No way will I work with this firm.my father was murdered by his doctor. A little compassion maybe?

Response from owner

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly sorry for your loss and for the circumstances that led you to contact our office. Reaching out following a devastating medical event is never easy, and we regret that your interaction with us left you feeling upset and unsupported. That is certainly not the experience we want anyone to have when they contact our firm.
Because of the nature of the cases we handle, our screening process requires gathering detailed information early on so that we can determine whether we can assist in a potential claim. That said, it is always our goal that every person who contacts our office feels heard, treated with compassion, and given the time and courtesy they deserve. We regret that this was not your experience. We take feedback like this seriously and would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly, better understand what occurred, and address your concerns. We would like to connect with you by phone if you are open to having a call. Please feel free to contact Attorney Andrew Meyer at (617) 720-4447 at your convenience.

Debbie was shockingly condescending. She repeatedly cut me off, asked questions only to answer them herself, and made it impossible to get a word in. Even if they agreed to take my case, I would never trust this practice. With the way you treat people, it’s clear you shouldn’t be anywhere near a profession that’s supposed to help them.

Response from owner

Dear Sara,

We’re sorry to hear that your interaction with our office left you feeling unheard. That is never our intention. While our intake process requires asking specific questions to determine whether a case is something we are able to help with, it is our goal that everyone who contacts our office feels listened to and that they were treated in a kind and respectful manner. We take feedback like this very seriously and did attempt to reach you by phone last week, leaving a voicemail, as we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you, better understand what happened, and fully address your concerns.

Please feel free to contact Attorney Andrew Meyer, at the office at (617) 720-4447 at your earliest convenience.

Bill Thompson and the Lubin & Meyer team are outstanding professionals! The settlement for my late wife's wrongful death was substantial. After almost 6 years it came down to the last week before the scheduled trial date, then Bill and his team went to work and did what they do best: prevailed!

My “never event” case was addressed with swift action. Within 22 months, instead of the standard 4 years, I received my portion of a settlement that was negotiated to be 50% higher than originally offered. I’m grateful to all the folks who made this possible from the administrative support to the partners and everyone involved. Thank you.

This law firm is terrible! I only went with them because all they do is medical malpractice cases, and they say they throw out more cases than other law firms. My wife died from Cardiovascular disease, a natural cause of death that Lubin and Meyer said it wasn't. They had one medical expert read my wife's medical records, and he said he found a lot of mistakes made by the doctor that caused my wife's death. After 6 months, Robert called me, saying, "The medical doctor for your case is no longer working with us." So Rob took my wife's medical records and showed it to several experts, and they gave the records right back to him saying, "There is NO proof that a doctor caused this woman's death." After Rob failed to find another medical expert to take on the case, he said we need to close this case. They had NO evidence in the first place, when I met them. They wasted my time showing my wife's medical records to just one expert, instead of six. If six experts read my wife's medical records, and five of them say there is nothing here, but one expert says there is, you go with the five experts and say there is NO case. Instead, Lubin and Meyer hired one medical expert who's an idiot saying the doctor killed my wife. Why did he suddenly leave the case? Of course, Rob said it had nothing to do with my wife's ongoing case. I don't believe that. Avoid these people at all costs! They are far from experts. I was a client and you know it! Why would I try to reach out to you again? Haven't you done enough damage?

After thoroughly reviewing our records based on the information provided, we have been unable to verify the writer of this review as a former client. However, we take all feedback seriously and want to clarify our process to maintain transparency. Our firm conducts a rigorous evaluation of every potential claim and only proceeds when we determine that a medical error has occurred, and we have the necessary expert support to substantiate it. If expert support is secured, we aggressively pursue the claim on our client’s behalf. However, if an expert later determines they can no longer support the claim or becomes unavailable, we make every effort to seek additional expert opinions to assess the claim’s viability. In some cases, despite our best efforts, we are unable to obtain the necessary expert support. When this occurs, we have a professional and ethical obligation to discontinue our involvement. While confidentiality prevents us from discussing specific cases publicly, if the writer of this review is indeed a former client, we encourage them to reach out to us directly at our office at (617) 720-4447. We would be happy to discuss their concerns and provide any clarification needed.

Hiring Lubin & Meyer was the best decision we ever made! They recovered much more than we ever expected. Living across the state, we never had to leave our home. Wonderful people, and always there for any questions we had. My husband and I highly recommend them. Thank you Lubin and Meyer!

If there were minus 5+ that would be my rating. Loss use of major physical functions bc of dr and 1st called while atty was driving home. Asked her to reconsider told call back and when I did she laughed at me and gave me a Google response of my condition I was being treated for when hurt and no knowledge of treatment mistakes laughed and told me to wait for it to go away. Told by hosp permanent drs fault. Atty wouldn't let me finish 1 sentence .

My brother was diagnosed with cancer after years of medical issues doctors didn’t take seriously. His best friend, a Boston judge, recommended he contact Lubin & Meyer. We are so grateful to have had Lubin and Meyer on our side. Specifically - Brooke, Rob and Andrew. They were responsive, caring, and attentive, and even though it wasn’t an easy case to prove, they still worked their butts off to help our family.

We first met with Lubin and Meyer barely 2 weeks after my mother died following a routine elective hernia repair. From that point forward, we knew we were in the right hands. From the initial discussions with Deborah Shea, to working with Lynn Hu on our depositions and trial prep, to having Adam Satin and Lynn Hu represent us in trial, we never doubted that Lubin and Meyer would fight for us and my mom. Lynn was our direct point of contact to the firm, and she always prioritized our questions and made sure we had an understanding of what was going on. Adam and Lynn were so incredibly compassionate, empathetic, and thorough throughout the trial. They truly gave my mom a voice in that court room and made sure our story was heard. We cannot recommend Lubin and Meyer more, to any family faced with the unimaginable. We will forever be grateful to Adam and Lynn for what they did for our family, and most importantly, my amazing mom.
