I just read a settlement agreement for a friend that was drafted by Lucas & Kite PLC that had what I consider egregious misstatements about the workers comp victim’s termination. On the phone they said it was an agreement for back pay, but in fact it was an agreement that cut off financial responsibility for the medical care she still needed. I was shocked that upon being told she was wrongfully terminated, they quickly drafted an agreement stating she left of her own accord to seek employ elsewhere, which is totally false. Then they pressured the claimant to sign it quickly. The claimant was not born in this country and felt pressured to go ahead and sign, not truly understanding what it said. I feel bad that my friend’s situation was misrepresented and that she was pressured to sign quickly by the representatives. WATCH OUT for documents offered by Lucas & Kite, take your time and get a legal understanding of what you are signing. Don’t let them misrepresent your situation and cut you off from your rights to receive medical care to heal your work related injury. I’m not a lawyer, this is my personal opinion. I don’t respect this law firm for these reasons.
