****SAVE YOURSELF SOMETIME*** I been though this*** I hired Maggio Law Firm to handle a felony embezzlement case and paid $10,000 upfront. From the beginning, communication was nearly impossible. I could rarely get in touch with Mr. Maggio, and as court dates approached, I’d be left scrambling and stressed due to a total lack of updates or direction. What stood out to me early on was how he carried himself—like he had a close relationship with the district attorney, almost as if to reassure me and justify the upfront cost. Looking back, it felt like more of a tactic to play on emotions than anything backed by real effort or results. If the energy spent on appearances had actually gone into the case, I believe it could’ve been beaten. But instead, it felt like he wasn’t willing to put in the real work. And then, after a plea deal was finally reached, he asked for another $5,000—as if he had done more than what was clearly a bare-minimum effort. This was hands down the worst experience I’ve had with a lawyer. If you want to save your time, money, and peace of mind—do not hire him.

*UPDATED* *After giving Mr. Maggio a million chances to stop resting on his laurels, he CONTINUED to ignore the importance of action, communication and effort, and got himself fired. Work ethics, in my opinion, are non-existent! Once I was financially and situationally invested, he threw in the towel and my family got taken advantage of in the worst ways possible. What a poor professional, who legally stole from us while telling the same stories over and over and over again! He doesn’t deserve one star and a complaint will be filed to the Mississippi Bars Consumer Assistance Program. **Poor to non-existent communication while passively ignoring things like emails, voicemails and phone calls has left my family and I in a HORRIBLY uncomfortable place.**

Mr. Maggio and his staff were excellent. God willing, I will no longer need his services, but if I do I would not hesitate to rehire and have him represent me.

I have a very complicated and unique case going on that’s been ongoing for a year and a half and currently do not have an attorney because I don’t know who to trust and honestly can’t afford one. I’m lost and don’t know where to turn. I called Mr. Maggio today after calling several attorneys and getting absolutely no where. Mr. Maggio took time out of his day not only to talk to me, but also looked my case up and reviewed it over the phone with me. He asked me questions, gave me advice, and spoke to me for a long time on the phone. I don’t know if he realized it, but just his conversation alone calmed me down. I was nearly in hysterics when I called him, and he had me giggling by the time our conversation ended. He cared enough to do that for me and didn’t expect anything in return for doing so, when no one else would even do that much for me. I really wish I could hire him and even though I don’t know how I’m supposed to come up with the money to hire him, I still wanted to write this review for him because of the gratitude I have for him simply just listening to me and offering advice. Thank you Mr. Maggio, I am deeply grateful for the conversation we had and I really hope I can find a way to come up with the money to hire you.

Mr Maggio and his office staff Ms Donna and Ms Jean were all amazing with our custody case!! They always answered the phone and always immediately responded to emails and got us exactly what was best for my husband's son... FULL CUSTODY With the mom getting every other weekend! TO THE DADS OUT THERE FIGHTING... DONT GIVE UP CALL MR MAGGIO AND LET HIM FIGHT FOR YOU AND YOUR KIDS!!! I promise he's worth every penny! Thank you for helping us end a 10 year battle and bringing our little man home where he's safe and happy!

Worst experience EVER with an attorney! He tells you everything you want to hear, takes your money and disappears. His staff ignore you as well. He takes 3 week vacations for every holiday and can never be reached. After the consultation, I never heard from him until the day of my court date which I wasn’t sure he was even going to show up to. ACTUALLY, I went to have my court date pushed back because I thought he wasn’t showing up and the woman I spoke with told me he was already there for another case. Not sure if he even knew my court date was that day or if it was just a coincidence he happened to be there. He is a liar and could not care less about his clients. I am filing a complaint with the MS Bar Association because I pray no one else has to go through what I went through because of Stephen Maggio.
