Im not really sure the type of cases they take. But , my guess is that it has to be 80k plus.. if not they will not represent you or take your case on. Their Language is "case not strong enough". Go find Another firm. Which is fine but why ask for personal information if you cant help. Wasted Time... 😔
Like many people, I’ve had my fair share of experiences with firms that didn’t seem to truly care—firms that felt like they were just there to collect a check. That completely changed when I started working with Marvin & Associates. Jim Schiff was assigned to my Social Security case, and I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Jim wasn’t just excellent with communication—his patience, knowledge, and professionalism were truly above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. From day one, he genuinely made me feel like he had my best interests at heart. Every time I had a question, he didn’t just respond quickly—he took the time to explain things thoroughly and educate me, never once making me feel like my questions were silly or unimportant. His patience and expertise clearly showed that he truly knows what he’s doing. While the outcome of my case was very positive, I can honestly say the journey getting there was even better because of Jim. On our final call, I was so pleased with my experience that I asked if Marvin & Associates could also represent me in a workers’ compensation case. Unfortunately, they only handle Social Security matters—but that alone says a lot about how much trust I had in them. Fast forward a couple of years later, I received a letter from Social Security that I didn’t fully understand. I reached out to Jim, hoping he might be able to clarify it or at least point me in the right direction. That same day, Jim called me personally. Not only did he take the time to explain the letter in detail, but he also clearly remembered specifics of my case from years earlier and explained exactly what the letter meant for my situation. How many people do you know who take so much pride in their work that they remember small details about a client years later? That truly impressed me and completely reinforced my belief that Jim genuinely cares about people and isn’t just doing this for a paycheck. If you need help with Social Security, I cannot recommend Marvin & Associates enough. And if you’re able to, ask for Jim Schiff—he is truly an asset to the company.
Steven Kidd was my attorney and he always kept me calm and made sure I understood everything that was going on. I have been fighting for 9 years! (Worst judge 2 times in a row) Mr. Kidd never left my side and Ariana was always super compassionate and listened over the phone when ever I felt I had a question or needed help. Mr. Kidd won my case for me this past month and I couldn't be more grateful for their help all along the way! Thank you so much Marvin and Associates
Marvin Law & Associates: (Prompt, detailed, efficient, professional, and easy to communicate with). Disability Filing (denial & refiling cases) From the onset the company had taken excellent care of my wife’s case some years ago and after I retired from years in public safety my medical issues started appearing immediately. I was speaking with a former fellow co-worker as he had filed himself (with another state attorney for the same area of litigation) and we had been playing sports, other outside jobs, and retired somewhat at the same period. After some time; I called Marvin Law and asked what would qualify me or if I even should file for disability and they helped me get started. Speaking with attorney Jim Schiff he addressed the request for filing and every person/associate (Keithla, Kathryn, Sheila, and Mr Arnold), thereafter I was treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. If any issues needed resolving they were explained and we managed those needs/changes. It was with delays at the SSI office (and gathering all of the necessary requested/required information for submission, proper paperwork detail correction/updates) organization and awaiting the lengthy decision (initial denial and secondary refiling), that they finally APPROVED the Disability Coverage case. The process to me was lengthy but also noticed once the final steps were accomplished and the resolution was expeditiously fast. I just have to say with even the conclusion suggestions and follow up links provided and other future possibilities appearing the office has appropriate logistic others that can help and connected us with those contacts and explained what to expect very (in English) understandable details. Thank you to all at Marvin & Associates and I recommend them if you even have a thought of possible need for legal assistance/representation.! jmg
I happened upon a miracle when I came across Marvin and Associates. I have been dealing with a social security overpayment due to the Windfall Elimination Provision for years now. A couple of years ago, I could not find a law firm to help me with overpayment issues. This time, I struck it rich! Jim Schiff, my attorney, has been amazing. He has walked me through the process and dealt with paperwork quickly. Jim also responded quickly when I had questions about the process. I would, without hesitation, recommend Jim and his firm. I am thrilled! Thanks so much Jim!
I have been on this long journey for almost 4yrs now. My family and I are all out of resources and to be honest when Nash (lawyers) had my case I honestly thought this would be it. Fast forward 4yrs federal level and I just had my hearing last week where I was informed my the wonderful secretary everyone keeps speaking of, that my lawyer-who I STILL have no clue what his name is(after 2 yrs?. They have not once asked to meet me and to make matters worse if the lawyer had just asked a few questions my hearing would of went much smoother. God bless
The Lawyer I had very good and the receptionist is good customer service she is always very helpful Kathy really did a good job and I am very satisfied with Marvin and associates. Abraham is a great lawyer to have. Very satisfied and I will subjects Marvin and associates. Thank you
After being denied several times with a different law firm, I was recommended to Marvin&Assoc, let say, the best decision I made. The lawyers and the whole staff were very professional, friendly and answer any questions that I had. Thanks to Arnold and Steven hard work, my disability was approved. I would recommend Marvin& Associates to everyone. God bless
The lawyers and office staff are Amazing! They are caring, professional, thorough, and ultimately want their clients to win.I am grateful for their help with my case and would recommend you to hire them if needing representation.
The lawyer that I was originally using to get benefits did not seem to be that aggressive. When I switched to the lawyers at Marvin and Associates, it was like night and day. I got results, and a hearing right away. My original lawyer was working in an office by himself, where as with Marvin and Associates there are many lawyers working as a team. My lawyer’s name was Barry Schultz, definitely I would recommend him. Kudos.
They fought for me they really try...law firm keeps you updated and they really fight for their clients
I want to emphasize that I paid Barry Schultz over $83,000, which was more than 25% of my past-due benefits. His law office charged me an hourly rate of $911 for 92 hours. Initially, we had agreed upon an amount of $7,450 as Equal Access to Justice Act (EAJA) fees a year earlier. I found this out by Googling my name; his law office never told me they were in court to try to get more money from me. I strongly believe that $83,000 is excessive, especially considering my multiple disabilities and the frequent need for procedures and surgeries. These costs accumulate rapidly.
Marvin & Assoc. attorney, James Schiff, recently represented me in a highly stressful, financially substantial SSDI Case. I was levied with an unfounded loss of benefits and monetary penalties, which I initially tried to fight myself. After months of frustration, I was referred to Jim, who, from the beginning was thorough, clear in his explanations of options, and upon reviewing my case, set himself to navigating a bureaucratic nightmare on my behalf. Jim’s expertise, persistence, and experience working with such agencies, ultimately rendered a decision from SSDI that not only absolved me of any financial burden, but resulted in a reinstatement of benefits, as well as back pay for months payment was lost. I could not be happier with Jim’s efforts, expertise, and consistent communication with me throughout this persecutive nightmare. I would recommend his counsel to anybody looking to navigate SSDI issues. Fees were more than fair. Thank you, Jim!
Jim Schiff did an outstanding job. He was openly calming, professional yet thorough and organized. He got us through and totally reversed a most difficult & upsetting SSDI case. Fees were very reasonable. THANX JIM!! Payee Rep & father for ADR. Mark
