Took my case, said it was simple. Pissed the judge off by going behind his back to make agreements in the court hallway instead of in the courtroom. I had exactly 50/50 custody with a clean record and clean habits (no drugs, no alcohol, clean house, etc) i didn't have to pay child support...by the middle i lost custody to my ex who is a convicted criminal and drug user (proven in court) disgusting trash dump house AND now I'm stuck paying child support only seeing the kids every other weekend. I confronted Lopata about this and he walked away and ignored me. I ALWAYS had to nag him to death to file paperwork in court and felt like I was doing most of the work. He had 45 days to file closing arguments and never did it. The judge died in the meantime. Now he's gone awol and won't withdraw from the case. I have filed a complaint with the Indiana DOJ and the revoked his license to practice, but somehow got it back. Now there's an active investigation. But i keep missing court dates bc he won't withdraw from the case. He is no longer at 4th st in mishiwaka and no one knows where he's at. His license is revoked for good now. I am pursuing legal process.

Stole my retainer as well. Missed two court appointments. $1200 out of pocket. Anyone know where I can reach this guy so my GOOD attorney can sue him?

Stole my retainer and did not show up to the hearing, very unprofessional and disrespectful.

Marvin seems to mean the best of intentions but is very unorganized and does not deliver on tasks such as timely filing, updating , and court hearing performance amongst other things.
