As you are no doubt aware, there are places where people can go where they don't have access to cellular devices to give reviews on Google!<br>And, you are right, I stopped representing you only after your cases were successfully resolved.<br><br>All the best to you in the future. I am so glad I was lucky enough to have found Matt. He's terrific in court and the best Lawyer and one of the best people I have met. I am grateful for his experience and tenacity. I see why he is a highly sought after attorney and Semper Fi to boot! He worked miracles for me.
No one really wants to hire a lawyer, but sometimes you just fall into a bad set of circumstances. In my case, I was dealing with a person who filled out a protection order request and was granted it. The problem was that I literally did nothing wrong (nor ever threatened this person) and I did not want this crazy thing hanging over me. This was where I was at when I came across Matthew Chapel attorney at law. He found things that I would never have found on my own, and despite this being an emotionally exhausting experience his humor and skill got me through this (at least for now, you never know when you are dealing with someone who is really nuts). Matthew Chapel really helped me out of a jam I should never have been put in. If you are in a jam and don’t know where to turn, you should give Matt Chapel a chance. It definitely wouldn’t hurt to reach out to him.

I absolutly adore this man. When I was in college, I was given a Misdemeanor 1 for a charge called, theft of service. I threw trash in a dumpster. I went into Mr. Chapel's office, and told him what had happened, and who was responsible for giving me the charge. He replied with, he did what? Grabbed a paper from behind him, signed it and gave me expongment papers, at no cost. This meant the world to me, as a poor college student. If i ever need him again, I'd hire him. This man is good. And I dont mean, just as a lawyer. But good, as in a good human. This all happened when he practiced in Celina. Ohio.

If I could give this man 0 stars I would. He is completely incompetent and will lie lie lie just to get your money. I hired Mr. Chapel for my boyfriend who had a theft case in Allen County. After giving him a 1500 down payment (an additional 300 every month after), it took an additional 3 weeks to even visit his client and "look" at his case. I put look in quotes because not at one moment he worked for us did he ever know what was going on with his case. When hiring Mr. Chappel you gain access to all court documents including plea agreements sent to him from the prosecutor. I noticed a week or two after the arrest there was a plea agreement sent over from the prosecutor that Mr. Chappal did not present to his client AT ALL for several months. FOR MONTHS my boyfriend sat in jail waiting to hear from Mr. Chappal about a plea that had already been presented, that he ignored. Mr. Chapel waited until TRIAL to LIE and say he JUST got the plea agreement sent to him. Mr. Chapel then called me to discuss the plea and when I mentioned to him it was presented MONTHS ago he argued with me and then hung up on me. He then called me back to yell at me more. I told him to present to plea agreement to my boyfriend but he then REFUSED to let him sign it until he could lower the cost my boyfriend would owe the company he stole from. My boyfriend was not interested in getting it lowered, was just ready to sign and be done with it all, yet Mr. Chapel still REFUSED to let him sign the plea. So I fired him. After being fired he tried to show up to the jail to see my boyfriend, who refused to see him since he was fired, and then called me to yell at me more about my boyfriend refusing to see him. That was just the main issue with this man. A few times I, and my boyfriends mother, would call and check in with Mr. Chapel since it didn't seem like he was working on my boyfriends case at all and ever single time he would yell at us for disturbing him. Apparently he was too busy coning money out of other people. Like I said before at no time while paying this man did he ever know what was going on with my boyfriends case. He was unaware my boyfriend was on probation at the time of arrest, even though he was told by my boyfriend, myself, and my boyfriends mother on multiple occasions. He lied and said he requested videos from the business and that his team was going over them to see if my boyfriend stole anything, he never requested those videos. The only video he had was body cam footage of the arresting officer. Mr. Chapel is NOT worth your time or money.
I hired Mr. Chapel for a simple modification and paid him $1,500 upfront on Nov. 13th. He knew the severity of my situation concerning my children and needing to get home so I could get my kids back home in my care and he sat on my money for 3 weeks. His staff did all his work and scheduled me a hearing on Dec 5th. On that day, Mr. Chapel walked into the courtroom blind, with no knowledge of my cases at all. He tripped over the microphone and made me looked so stupid. He withdrew my modification all together and never got me back on the calendar. He then never did anything that a modification entails, spoke with the prosecutor for 2 hrs dogging me out, when modifications have nothing to do with the prosecutors period. Then when I tried to explain my situation he told me I need to quit talking. In mid sentence he told me how beautiful I was and told his staff that he likes his coffee like he likes his women. Then he looked me in my face and said he no longer wants to represent me for no reason at all. He refused to give me my money back and didn't care one bit about the importance of me getting home to my children during the holidays or other matters involved. He is a scam and nowhere near what his ratings explain. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!
Well we had a mix communication with my number so I didn't receive the phone calls but I appreciate the help you gave my son, got the answer I need from the courts
Mr. Chapel did everything he said he would , and did it fast, was on time for all our meetings and court. He listened and took action, and went into court and did an excellent job, and took care of my case for me . Mr. Chapel will fight for you.

Dear Ms. Britany, <br>My asking you where you learned about the law that you were using to correct the advice you received upon request of me this afternoon, was simply straight talk. You heard something from me that you either didn't like or it didn't agree with your understanding of how you perceive that the process should work. And, that's alright. You have a right to your opinion. Even about me.<br><br>I, on the other hand, simply wanted to know the authority and experience that you were basing your opinion as to how the prosecutor's office and the courts work. My job isn't to tell you what you want to hear. It is to convey information that helps people get out of the jam that they're in. And, I understand that the best service I can provide is to help get someone out of the jam quickly and with the least amount of repercussions possible.<br>Unfortunately, often times, the amount of information or the quality of the information that I receive from people calling my office, is flawed and, often times -- wildly inaccurate. <br><br> And, since it wasn't a situation that involved you, but someone you were calling on behalf of, I was somewhat nonplussed by the way you talked to me on the phone. Even so . . .<br><br>I wish you and the person you were calling on behalf of, all the best and hope the situation gets resolved quickly, easily and in the manner that you were telling me about how the court and prosecutor work. Because frankly, that would be the easiest and best for your friend. Thank you for your service to our country, John Patrick Drudge. As a veteran who served in combat, you will always have my respect and admiration. And, it has been an honor and a privilege to have represented you.<br><br>Nevertheless, you have made inaccurate statements in this review. <br><br>For example, a jury trial date has never been set. I did not "drop" you "mid trial."<br><br>As you are also aware, when you hired a Fort Wayne lawyer to represent you in Peru, you knew that there was extensive travel required to represent you in court. And, the statement that I was "never on time" is false. The Miami County Court utilizes a "cattle call" procedure. Your hearings were always at 11:00 AM. And, you were always free to leave the courthouse before 11:45 AM -- depending on how many public defender cases were called before you AND how much time we took to discuss your case face to face before appearing in front of the judge. <br> Furthermore, you neglected to inform the reader of why you retained me in the first place. <br><br>And, finally, both myself and my office staff on numerous occasions attempted to contact you personally throughout the last 9 months to either receive information or give you information that was vital to your defense. However, you did not have a voice mail box set up on your phone and you never accessed the client portal of the case management system where you could ask questions or provide vital information that was often necessary to change the dynamics of our situational defensive position.<br><br>Finally, and as I often point out in response to negative reviews that lack pertinent information that would assist the reader in concluding whether a bad review is warranted, you neglected to include information as to the challenging situation that you find yourself in and the reasons why you are in this pickle. <br><br>John, by posting your 1 star review, you are demonstrating that you are the benefactor of 5 Star Freedom -- at least up to this point in time. Over the course of many years, as a court reporter, I had the opportunity to experience attorney, Matthew Chapel represent his clients. He is truly a first class individual. Attorney Chapel, is always very careful to respect and honor those he works with in all aspects of the profession.

He is very knowledgeable and works hard for you. He is a Veteran which made me feel better being a Veteran myself he understans the differentthings we go through. Honestly expected a lot better since he's highly reviewed. My boyfriend and I had searched long and hard for a good lawyer to represent us and thought we were in trusty hands. Mr. Chapel was late to all of our court hearings but one. When we brought up past records during conversation on our first court hearing, Mr. Chapel had no clue about my boyfriends past sentences. I never felt confident in the court room. And to add his receptionist is rude and unprofessional. She claimed she had been leaving messages and calls to my phone about my legal case but when I replied I wasn't receiving them (neither was my boyfriend) and wanted to know what number she was sending my personal information to, I never got a response. I'd talk to Mr. Chapel in person and agree apon something and then his receptionist would message me rudely about how I never gave them a response. He couldn't even get us a better deal than what was first offered to us. I really should have just went with the free lawyer because feel I would have gotten the same results and I wasted my money. Unnecessary added stress in my opinion, but I gave them 2 stars because he was at least a nice gentleman and he did show up.

Kindly accept my apology that it wasn't resolved prior to your having retained me.<br>And, despite your disparaging opinions that range beyond my office staff, I do consider it an honor and a privilege to have assisted you and your boyfriend through a difficult and very challenging time in your lives. I note that every time you both had court, upon my arrival, you were free to leave the courthouse within 10 minutes. I'm also happy that you both have the ability to use a Smart Phone or a home computer to write this review. There are people that aren't allowed access to those kinds of electronic devices where they reside. Finally, you reference a "free lawyer." My colleagues who serve as "public defenders" are not serving indigent people accused of crimes for free. They are, in fact, paid by the tax payers of the State of Indiana. And, they obviously don't do it for the money. They do it because they honor the Constitutions of both the United States and the State of Indiana. As my mentor, Alan Johnson, Esq., used to point out to me while I was working my way through law school, "There's no such thing as a free lunch. Somebody always pays for what you eat.
