Natalya Maze represented me recently in a dispute with a general contractor who had done substandard work on my home. Most of his poor workmanship I dealt with myself, at my own expense, but when it became obvious after only one year that the standing seam metal roof was failing because it had been installed incorrectly, I had enough. At first the contractor lied to me and told me that he would "talk to the roofing company." Then after multiple emails he finally admitted that instead of subcontracting this roofing job to a professional roofing company specializing in metal roofs, he had one of his laborers install my roof. After two separate home inspections noted the failing roof and recommended further investigation, I hired an independent roofing consultant who confirmed that the roof was poorly installed and leaking. The general contractor then demanded to have his own roofing consultant examine the roof, and surprise surprise, even his own consultant confirmed that the roof had been poorly installed and would have to be replaced. The general contactor then demanded to re-do the work himself! (He couldn't even do it right the first time on brand new construction! There was no way I was going to have him do the work a second time!) I hired a professional metal roofing company to remove the poorly installed roof and replace it. During the job, they discovered multiple other issues, such as the bathroom fans being vented into sealed-up soffit space with no exterior vent. Where was the general contractor when this substandard work was being done?? To make a long story short(er), I hired Natayla Maze to represent me in my claim against this general contractor. Fortunately back in the very beginning of this project, I had hired Natalya to review the construction contracts before I signed them, and at that time she had modified the contract to state that if work had to be redone, I was free to hire any company to perform the work (instead of being required to let this general contractor re-do his own substandard work). I proceeded to have my roof completely replaced. Natalya endured months of back and forth with this contractor, and in the end she was able to come up with a resolution that required the contractor and his insurance company to repay me. To sum it up I will say that Natalya is an outstanding attorney. She is very good at construction disputes and she is also a very skilled negotiator who is able to remain calm even in the face of totally irrational and unprofessional opposition. In addition, she is very conscientious about the costs of legal representation and tries her best to keep costs down. I highly recommend her.
