I dont know anything about this firm or their skills in litigation but I think they should provide comedy/media consultations. Their gracious offer to charge me $600 for an hour of their time before even being able to tell me if they will be able to assist, gave me a good chuckle at least. Admist the tough time regarding the issue im going through and needing assistance with, this made half my face twist into a weird thing resembling a smile.

Law Firm Creating More Complex Litigation Issues For You And Your Loved Ones. Review of Jeffrey Renshaw (working with McKean Smith, including Colin McKean) Public disciplinary records reflect that Jeffrey Renshaw has been disbarred in both Washington and Oregon. Despite that status, he involved himself in an irrevocable trust he had no role in drafting, administering, or governing, and no authority over. He shared the trust instrument and private trust information with multiple third parties without permission or lawful authority, in direct violation of the trust’s terms. This firm proceeded on behalf of a charitable beneficiary without providing the mandatory notice to the Washington Attorney General, a statutory requirement designed to protect the public interest. That compliance defect was raised, yet the activity continued anyway. At the same time, Colin McKean sent repeated harassing emails to a beneficiary who objected to their involvement and questioned authority. Rather than address the objections or produce lawful standing, the firm turned around and sued the trust for approximately $20,000 in legal fees, attempting to extract money from an irrevocable trust they had no authority to control. All of this occurred while no valid EIN existed for the trust, a fact that was known and raised. Despite that, litigation, billing, and information-sharing continued. These are not close calls or technical disagreements: Disbarred attorneys cannot participate as legal actors. Charitable matters require AG notice. Irrevocable trust terms cannot be ignored. Private trust information cannot be circulated without authority. Trusts without standing and without an EIN cannot be treated as open wallets for fees. Proceeding anyway—after notice—speaks for itself. Anyone considering involvement with this firm in trust, estate, or charitable matters should understand the authority, compliance, and beneficiary-rights risks before trusting them with sensitive information or assets.

I hired Sam Kuzma from this firm based on a recommendation from our business lawyer. While he may be capable, he is either overworked or can’t handle complex divorce cases involving multiple businesses. I hired Nathan Holtey instead and couldn’t be more pleased with the added expense, as I now get someone who listens to what I want, communicates well, and gives me same day replies. If you want someone who takes days to respond to correspondence (unless you have previously written a review about him on yelp, THEN you might get a timely response) and needs constant oversight because he misses details of your case, Sam is your guy.

I contacted this law firm in the beginning of April, and it took them a month to tell me they didn't have time to take my case. This was after several phone calls and emails.
