Jon has done an amazing job for me. After 2 special needs trust funds I finally ended up at his office…. I now can say with confidence that my son will be ok. Jon made it so my son’s physician, medications, etc are all easily found, I might have overlooked much of it. He also has gone the extra mile when tragedy struck my family and I needed to change my will. Within the week he had everything changed. I know he honestly cares about my son and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I have worked with Scott, Tokerud & McCarty, P.C. since the autumn of 2018. They have been very helpful in guiding me through the process of obtaining the Guardianship and Conservatorship of my mother, who is sadly incapacitated due to dementia. When I found myself in need for an Elder Law Attorney, I was living a time zone away from Great Falls. I was not able to travel to Great Falls from my home in Northern Minnesota, where I had relocated for a job. I was fortunate to have had Jon McCarty as a neighbor when I lived in Great Falls, so I had gotten to know him really well when I was living next to him. In getting to know Jon, I found him to be a compassionate, conscientious, intelligent, and honorable man. I could think of nobody else in Montana to whom I could turn for advice and guidance in navigating the process for Guardianship and Conservatorship of my incapacitated mother. If Jon had not been an Elder Law Attorney, I still would have turned to him for advice to determine the best person to help me in my situation. When my siblings and I realized that my mother required a Guardian and Conservator after my father passed away, we had no idea what it would take to accomplish the undertaking. None of us lived in the mountain time zone anymore and none of us knew the first thing about what was entailed in the process. Jon McCarty and the staff at Scott, Tokerud & McCarty, P.C. (LaTonya and Chris) have always been there to explain the legal requirements, the estate information, and the evaluations that are necessary to become and remain a Guardian and Conservator. They set up appointments with the nurse evaluator and my mother’s legal counselor in the initial part of the process to achieving Guardianship and Conservatorship. They filed the paperwork, attended all legal hearings, and represented us well. Every year, they send me a reminder and guidance on the annual reports that I need to make to the court in regard to my management of my mother’s affairs as Guardian and Conservator and they file the necessary paperwork as well as attend requisite legal hearings in those instances, too. I consider them to be part of my mother’s care team, just as much as the nurses and administrators in the memory care center where she lives. What is even more astounding is that I can tell that they all care deeply about my mother, even though they have never met her! If you are considering hiring Jon McCarty for Elder Law or any aspect of Estate Planning, I would highly encourage you to do so. Went to them to do our wills. Explained what we wanted. Wills were prepared and unfortunately, executed to early. Went back in to the office to see Jon. He was very compassionate. Thank you for taking care us. I recommend your office to everyone I talk to. Great people to do business with.
