Pursuing legal action can be a daunting choice, usually brought on by unfortunate circumstances that require that justice be served. In my case, my insurance company refused to recognize the deep, structural damage to my home's brick exterior, brought on by the tremendous wind torment of hurricane Laura. Even after I presented a professional evaluation of the nascent damage, that only progressed with time, as is typical of structural cracking, my insurance company denied my claim and "officially" concluded that any cracking was due to settling earth, without ever having come out to look. Their evaluation and conclusion was all done over the phone and their Ap. I was distraught, disappointed and eventually disgusted. Fortunately, YouTube had a few videos on hurricane brick damage and a friend told me about Montiel-Hodge Law Firm. As I watched the cracks in my bricks continue to grow, I decided to reach out to Montiel-Hodge, even though they were located in New Orleans...clean across the state from Lake Charles. After a quick, initial discussion and evaluation, a Ms. Shelby Talley took the time to respond to all my questions and concerns related to the representation agreement. She was stellar in her articulation and interpretation of the legal concepts, terms and objectives contained. I felt quite comfortable with her expertise and concern, leading to a strong sense of organic confidence, resulting in the retention of their services. From there, it was a series of follow up discussions and updates that gave view and context to the process of seeking justice for the damage done to my home that my insurance company refused to recognize, and much less recompense...despite my years of patronage, believing that I was buying protection for just such a situation. My case was particularly challenging due to changes in my insurance company's legal position but with Ms.Talley's guidance, my case was settled to my great satisfaction, and will now allow me to repair my home and feel whole again after being ravaged by hurricane Laura.
