Motley Rice seems to have a knack for hiring paralegals who are more focused on defending their own attitude than actually helping clients. Crystal, the paralegal from Rhode Island I spoke with, was already brimming with condescension from the get-go. She told me my hernia mesh brand didn’t qualify for a lawsuit while this other brand did, and when I questioned how that could possibly make sense, she got flustered and started accusing me of being “hostile.” My mother was sitting right next to me, and we were both just baffled – this was the weirdest meltdown we’d ever seen. It’s almost comedic how humans cling to rules and regulations, even when they make zero sense – like Crystal couldn’t just admit, “Yeah, I don’t really know why – that’s just how it is.” Instead, she acted like my curiosity was an act of war. Crystal, if you’re reading this, I’d suggest a different career path – one that doesn’t involve talking to people who expect actual answers. I was the one who initially called Motley Rice about my son’s hernia mesh case, and my son joined in to help clarify some questions. I have been waiting for two years for my settlement. My assigned paralegal keeps giving me the run around with "call me back" only when I do call back there is no answer and voice mails or emails aren't getting returned. So frustrated! I don't believe I will be working with them again.
