The best decision I ever made was to hire Attorney Nevins for a modification issue I had with my X husband. She fought for my rights and had a way of making me feel safe and protected under her guidance. She was understanding, empathetic, had great communication throughout this entire process! I personally witnessed Kathleen Nevins lie about facts, twist stories and, essentially, ruin my sister’s life. Kathleen stated in open court that she tried to contact me many times when she never did. Worse, I sent her a letter detailing her a litany of pertinent facts which she hid from the Court and refused to use in her “investigation,” which was a corrupt excuse for stealing money from a family to aid her lavish lifestyle. From what I witnessed, Kathleen performed no investigation at all and lied at every turn. In the end, she did not wind up protecting my sister and actually recommended an unhealthy living situation which resulted in my sister being hospitalized for lack of care. Even then, all Kathleen cared about was her profit and never once apologized for refusing to share my letter that alerted her to dangers that in hindsight proved to be true. Save your money, your time and your children: if anyone recommends using Kathleen Nevins as a “guardian,” hug your children close and run for the hills. This person is why lawyers and the CT Family Court have a bad name, pure evil. Had to give at least one star, but, believe me when I say, she deserves zero because that is her value.

I wish you could be kind to others especially opposing clients.I believe in a fair and just trial not unscrupulous and nasty never ending unnecessary legal battles because of your own interests. I find joy in being kind, humane, respectful, honest and loving. I feel defeated when I am intimidated, called names , portrayed contrary to who I am “a loving mom of two wonderful children I raised as a primary caregiver in a very toxic and abusive relationship” , being denied access of my own children due to misrepresentation of material facts and deception.I wonder if you feel joy in how you have treated me and possibly other opposing clients? Attorney Kathleen Nevins, I will continue to value humanity over any $ value. Humanity is free and all you need is a clean kind heart. Keep doing what makes you happy. But try to be kinder to children who are more likely to have negative effects from your current handling of a career path that you choose. You have made a mountain out of a molehill. In the past I have put my children first and that is why I have unending legal fees that I don’t even have. I have covered up for my ex with the police. You lie for my ex, you do anything and everything to prove I am an unfit mother. What do you gain, other than financial and status? You have and continue to make every process impossible. From kids therapy, GAL, co- parenting, distribution of assets including QDROs, having access of my personal clothes from 2021 till February of 2023. You even made it a nightmare to access my car. I would walk with no warm clothes in the middle of a snow storm with severe back issues. I keep asking myself what I can do to stop all these problems. Do you want me to bow down to you? Be well Mother of two adorable sons.

This is the most unethical individual I have ever encountered. She was appointed to protect my daughter. Ha ha. On several occasions, she arranged "surprise" meetings with the child which caused the 14 year old to feel extremely uncomfortable, violated and even traumatized. Kathy knew of the discomfort this created, because the child had the impetus to tell her, and Kathy did not care. Their relationship broke down irretrievably, with the child refusing to speak to Kathy in person, by phone or online. As a guardian, who presumably has taken the state trainer course, kathy should have the suave to know how to approach a teenager and develop a relationship. But she does not. In fact, if this is how she treats her "wards," I can only imagine the horror for her own kids. Kathy may be a lawyer, I didn't witness that, but she has no business acting as a GAL who is expected to develop a rapport with children. Kathleen is unable to be reflective or admit an error--another factor that is essential in dealing with teens. If this woman is suggested to be your GAL, run and hide! And save your check book. She charges $350 per hour, gets involved with all sorts of matters she wasn't hired for, and adds a 19% fee each month, a rate as usurious as one would expect from a personal credit card, not a GAL. Kathy is in it for the money, she does a poor investigation, is unskilled with children and, from what my family saw, does not care at all about those she is supposed to help. I don't wish to say more as I don't like trashing people, but I could go on and on about the horribleness of this person. Trust me when I say, run fast from the Nevins Law Group.

I have worked with attorney Nevins for a number of years, both personally and with professional matters. I know with out a doubt that when I have her on my side or my clients , we are all in great hands.

Attorney Nevins is thorough, extremely bright, capable and well versed professional. I cannot recommend anyone more qualified than this practice.
