Excellent Attorney and Great Support: I am very grateful for the representation I received. From our first consultation, the attorney demonstrated a deep knowledge of the law and great empathy towards my situation. He took the time to explain every step of the process to me and was always available to answer my questions. Thanks to his dedication and professionalism, I achieved a favorable outcome in my case. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a reliable and competent attorney. A true professional!
Thanks for the kind review, glad we could help!
We are strong advocates for our clients.
My first phone call the consultation was $80 but when I called back the price was $100. I was only was about 3 questions before I was asked about my income. After she knew I couldn't afford her the phone called ended after only 22 minutes and I was given absolutely no advice or help. I paid $100 to be told I can't afford her. Disgusting to take advantage of people like this.
Hi Tia,
We apologize if there was any miscommunication regarding the price of our consultation. Consultations have been $100 for many years - they have never been $80. It is already discounted hourly rate for a conversation that is for the purpose of briefly evaluating a case, giving some basic advice, and determining if a potential client has a matter with which we can assist.

Over the course of your conversation with Jennifer Nielsen today, she asked you many questions and took a single-spaced full page of detailed notes about all of the important issues involved in your case. She also noted the advice and guidance that she gave you about next steps to take on your own in order to improve your situation.

At the bottom of the full page of notes from your call with her is the income information you referred to. While it is necessarily a part of the evaluation of every case, it is never something that is discussed near the beginning of a call, unless the potential client is calling with questions specifically about the financial issues of divorce.

Additionally, before any consultation is scheduled, the Nielsen Miller Law intake team always advises potential clients about the cost of the initial retainer deposit required prior to representation. You chose to schedule a consultation, seeking representation, despite already knowing that you could not afford representation, and then when you were advised that you could not afford representation, you chose to post a false and negative review.

Showing the court that you are ready to take ownership and responsibility for your choices will be absolutely crucial if you want a good outcome in your case.

We hope you are able to use the information and advice that Jennifer gave you today about how you might move forward with your case, and above all, we hope that you are able to find some peace regarding your situation in the future.
Jennifer and her team worked hard for us. She's a great family law attorney. She worked on our emergency custody case. Jennifer not only got us custody but did it in a way so we didn't have to go to court.
Would give 0 if an option. The absolute worst experience. Late for court numerous times. Never had the work done on time to file causing a frustrated magistrate. Unprofessional. Overcharged for everything. Thousands of dollars billed for nothing but temp orders only to pay a new attorney to start over. Never consulted with me before running up my bill on sorting paperwork. Filed incorrect information that also caused issues in a very serious case. Court is so stressful. You need someone to count on and trust.
The personalized level of service delivered by this firm is second to none. Through each step of the process I was guided by a team that was clearly invested in my best interest and most positive possible outcome. My questions were answered in a timely fashion. I was educated on all possibilities and able to make choices on how I wanted to proceed through family Court based upon the information given.
I strongly recommend. Jennifer was always responsive and if she was busy she always made sure to let me know and got back in a timely fashion. One of the most honest and positive people I have ever met. She is always willing to answer questions about anything and help with anything she can. There was never a doubt when it came to my case that she understood and knew exactly what she was doing. I have recommended her to others and will continue to recommend her.
I’m autistic, live out of state now and have an ex-to-be who wishes me the only the worst, whose attorney is known for pulling less than honest shenanigans. Jennifer and her team at Nielsen Law moved swiftly to stop any underhanded shenanigans before they started and made sure I understood everything that was happening and helped keep my anxiety at bay. Being on the spectrum, I’m a smart but very vulnerable person who has often been railroaded and taken advantage of in life. I also have a very low threshold for stress. So having a great lawyer and an accommodating legal team who took all this into consideration and made sure I knew what was going on, what was expected of me and made sure I knew I didn’t need to stress it all made a huge difference. There’s not a lot of people in the professional world who take the time to treat people as individual human beings of value (especially lawyers, amirite?) This was a whole new and refreshing experience for me. It would have been a lot worse for me without their help. I’ve had a couple other lawyers over the years and they were not good at communication, keeping me in the loop, answering my questions and concerns etc, I definitely, doubly appreciate that Jennifer and her team are very much the opposite of that. Not one question or worry went unaddressed. They were friendly, helpful, professional, accommodating and just genuinely kind and patient with me. (And didn’t drain my bank account as I feared). The kindness shown to me at Nielsen Law will forever be deeply appreciated. I strongly recommend Jennifer Nielsen for all your family court type of needs.
I am so thankful for the entire team at Nielsen Law, I couldn’t have gotten through my divorce without them. Knowing I had a brilliant legal mind on my side to help me and my kids escape meant the world to me and still does. Jennifer Nielsen is so knowledgeable, but also so understanding and accommodating, she really went out of her way to make sure that I was safe. She helped me and my kids get the resources to get out of a very dangerous situation and away from our abuser. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome or for a better lawyer. Jennifer if you ever see this, thank you. To any other person who is stuck in a dangerous or violent situation— it doesn’t have to be this way forever. It CAN GET BETTER and the first step to getting better is calling Nielsen Law. It was the wisest decision of my adult life.
Jennifer Neilsen is a Horrible attorney she didn’t even represent me.She didn’t feel that my divorce case was that big of a deal. She turned my case over to her apprentice Margret lightfoot who did not know what she was doing but charged Jennifer Neilsen prices.Jennifer sent invoices to a wrong Email she said I owed her $1800 the day before court and was real rude about. I paid it and continued with the case unfortunately it was a mistake cost a lot of money to get absolutely nothing done. She couldn’t get paper work filled in time so we had my case in circleville when I was married in Franklin county yet another horrible experience and that was the start. Then Jennifer moved offices no form of letting me know that she had moved but I was charged to find out. Double invoices through out Case.Next horrible experience was going to court with Margret lightfoot she had purple and blue hair looked very unprofessional. When we went to court she brought up my ex wife having an affair and the judge asked her what the guy’s name was that she was having affair with she replied I don’t remember cost me $500.We go to what was supposed to be the first child custody case and Margret lightfoot sent the paperwork to the wrong address for my ex wife. The court used a term on why it was going to continued I asked her what that meant Margret replied I don’t know I have to call Jennifer so once again I paid for there mistakes. I got charged for for her paid training. My ex wife and I were also in a bankruptcy together Jennifer or Margret had a court date set but I was the one who contacted my bankruptcy attorney and come to find that there had to be paperwork filled due to the bankruptcy before we could even go to court and get divorced. I had to do there job and call them and get the case continued if not they were going to let me go to court and charge another $500.Jennifer will have people show at your case with out informing you She had some guy named Eric show up to listen they said. You will see you have been charged for that in your invoice. I paid close to $8000 for this experience and nothing was done so I had to fire her.Jennifer told me I owed her $300 before she would give me my legal documents then I said I will write the Columbus bar association and my bill went to $700 and still didn’t give me my legal documents until fully paid.Jennifer kept my daughters original birth certificate and I had to go through a bunch of headache to get a new one. I had to go to Circleville and pay to get my legal documents and pay for copies to give to my new attorney Ronald A Wittel jr. which was night and day from Jennifer and her team.Jennifer is still sending a bill and raising it so now I have no choice but to write the Columbus bar association. I definitely do not recommend Jennifer Neilsen
Jennifer Nielsen is experienced, proactive, professional and personable. She makes you feel safe, makes sure you’re informed, and sees to it that you feel confident that you and your legal matter are in competent hands. Jennifer is friendly and compassionate in person and incredibly adept and zealous in the courtroom. She helped my wife and I navigate a dangerous and complicated situation- in 6weeks time her dedication and skill positively impacted and changed our day to day lives for the better. Throughout the entire ordeal, she kept us up to date on progress and made us feel like we were her number one clients throughout the process. Jennifer Nielsen is kind, compassionate, brilliant and skilled- exactly what you want in an attorney. You can hire Nielsen Law with ease and confidence.
Jennifer Nielsen and her staff provide timely, compassionate, and highly ethical counsel and advocacy; and do it all in such a way that reminds those who need to hear it most that people care, and that even when things seem dark and bleak there’s a path to a better, safer, and happier life. In a world full of cynics and opportunists, it’s my sincere belief that this practice is focused on the power and positives of reasonable negotiation or, when necessary, ferocious advocacy. I have twice recommended Jennifer to close friends who suffered at the hands and words of their spouses, and would do so again and again, particularly in cases in which there has been physical or emotional abuse. And then there’s my own; friendly, loving, but familial and not romantic, and that one too is navigated with compassion and kindness. Wonderful attorney; responsive, communicative, professional, fierce when need be, and she just gets it — all of it. Wonderful staff.
Jen is such a great attorney. I can't say enough good things about her. We are going through a lot and she has been our voice and advocate every step of the way. She works so hard on our case and shows how much she really cares. We have so much confidence in her, she knows the law. She has never gotten frustrated with us and our countless questions. She is trying to keep a abuser from ruining my daughter and grandsons life. We are not there yet but she has worked diligently and she has an amazing understanding staff.
