I hired this attorney for my divorce and ultimately had to fire her. The biggest issue was that she never seemed to actually know my case or even care. The only thing she appeared to keep track of was my trust account balance. Anytime the balance got low, I would receive calls or texts—even at odd hours—pressing me to add more funds. At one point, she even refused to share important case information with me unless I replenished my trust account. She missed a scheduled meeting, showed up late to court, and often seemed intimidated by the opposing party’s attorney. I never felt like she was truly advocating for me. I spent over $45,000 with this attorney and got barely anywhere. The only positive part of my experience was her legal secretary, Rachel—if this review were for her, it would be five stars. Rachel was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout. When I eventually switched to a new lawyer, I immediately noticed the difference. My new attorney cared about my case, cost less, and actually got results. For example, I won sanctions against my ex-husband for withheld bank records, but my previous attorney wanted me to pay $800 for a simple letter over a $900 sanction. That said everything I needed to know about her priorities. Take this review for what it’s worth, but I truly do not recommend this attorney.

DO NOT hire this woman. She is A terrible lawyer and is very unprofessional with A bad attitude. She cares more about money than your actual case. She always threatened to quit my case over money even though she charging my card $1,000 every two weeks. She would even make unauthorized charges on my card without my knowledge and when confronted about it she would give me attitude. At times it seems like I was her only client and I was holding her business up with my case. The harassment over money by Ms Davis is very tacky. We had one court appearance and she came 45 minutes late, never apologized and did A horrible job representing me. She allowed the other attorney in the courtroom run circles around her. It seemed like it was her first court appearance. She DID NOT prepare me for court at all, she blindsided me with questions we never discussed before hand and allowed the court to coerce me to get my consent. I eventually fired her for cause of fraud and swindle, ineffective assistance and counsel. I paid her almost 30k for NOTHING. After I fired her and paid off my remaining balance she sent me A fraudulent invoice for $1, 300 and when I asked her what the invoice she had A very unprofessional response. I hired her because she was an independent black own business and in turn she lived up to EVERY negative stereotype about black owned businesses. This lady is A fraud, she will butter you up to lose big time in court. I represented myself for the last half of my case and yielded better results than she did. Everything she told me I would not be able to get from my divorce case I ended up getting representing myself. I am filing A grievance with the Bar and the Better Business Bureau. The review about the grandparents being swindled out of 4K is on par with my experience with Pawnee. DO NOT HIRE THIS WOMAN!!!!

Pawnee represented me most of 2023 in my separation/divorce case and she did a through job going through all of the details of my case and informing me about my options of settlement or going to trial. My only wish is that she would have pressed opposing counsel more on their lack of responsiveness. I would recommend her for anyone who is looking for legal support for divorce matters she did a great job!

I was recently going through some paperwork to throw away that is no longer relevant and ran into my paperwork from Pawnee Davis. I should’ve posted this years ago, but was so distraught that it completely slipped through the cracks. I hired Ms Davis to represent me in a grandparent rights case in the state of Maryland. She charged me $4000. We went to court once only to be told that grandparents have no rights in the state of Maryland. I believe she knew this in advance, and simply took my money, I will never forgive her and would never recommend her for anything. Since I found this paperwork, I am also going to report her to the Bar Association. Jan 6 2024-this is an update to my post. Within an hours of posting I got a phone call from the attorney, expressing regret, and offering to partially reimburse me. If I would remove my post she asked for a “ Payment plan” and we made arrangements for her to partially reimburse me by a certain date. I have not heard another word from her or received any money. This woman is beyond pathetic. You can have friends post good reviews for you, even though they know they’re not true. I can’t believe that I trusted her again. If you are in need of true legal help, stay away from this woman. I have contacted the bar association. Beware and God bless.

Wow, where do I even start... I hired Ms. Pawnee Davis back in June of 2021 to help dismiss a child custody case in D.C., while I was actively pursuing another child custody case in Columbus, OH. She is very understanding and willing to go the extra mile for her clients. She was able to get my case dismissed in D.C., which is what I needed to happen.
